Yes, it started charging a few weeks ago. Here's a recent piece about the pressure on 'free' ATMs to start charging: https://www.lovemoney.com/news/82045/charge-fee-save-cash-machines-atm-cash-point

We won't know until the planning applications are made (one for the current ground's footprint and one for Green Dale). It seems that that will happen later than the developers hoped, as I believe several issues were raised at the first pre-application meeting between Southwark Council, the developers and DHFC which might take some time to address.

Unfortunately I'm now busy on Thursday. -
There are quite a few mistle thrushes in the area ? particularly Peckham Rye, Alleyns' and JAGS' playing fields, and Green Dale. And lots of song thrushes everywhere ? they seem to have risen in numbers around here at the expense of blackbirds.

I'm a 'probable' -
Um, hardly. According to the directors, they might now end the season level financially rather than making a substantial deficit, as they had feared. Only the increased attendances have turned that around. But the club is a long way away from being wealthy.

Yes, there's a cock pheasant who's taken up residence in Dog Kennel Hill Wood behind Sainsburys.

On matchdays there's the 'mega-container' shop just inside the turntiles which sells shirts, scarves etc. Or you can order online: https://www.dhfcshop.co.uk/

A reminder that there's a public meeting at Dulwich Hamlet's bar this evening to discuss all matters to do with the future of the club including, but not restricted to, the proposals for redeveloping the ground: "The directors of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club will be holding a public meeting at the club house bar at Champion Hill Stadium at 7.30pm on Monday January 28, 2019. The purpose of the meeting is to update fans and the local community on the status and future of the football club after the events of the past year and invite questions from attendees. The club will be happy to answer questions on any subject including the financial position of the club, the status and impact of the new leases for the stadium and surrounding areas and our position on the proposed new application the development of Champion Hill by Meadow Partners."

There was "no new building" on the previous planning application either but the Council said that the substantial works proposed would harm the open and undeveloped nature of the MOL and that was one of the five reasons why they deemed the application unacceptable. So terraces, fences around the pitch and walls around the stadium do constitute unacceptable development with regard to MOL. You'll notice that Meadow craftily talk about "the stadium" when in fact they mean the main stand only, eg "The stadium will sit outside the MOL". They wouldn't be doing that if they were confident that the rest of the stadium development was acceptable.

All traffic along Walworth Rd still on diversion. Slow - and will become much slower during rush hour if it continues.

"Trains from ED are cancelled more than they run." That means more than 50%, yes? It's not that difficult to understand. Yes, the service could be better, but you're just plain wrong.

It was a quick mention of the club's return and the 2-1 victory. The next home game is tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm against Slough Town. Another big crowd is expected, so get tickets in advance from here and save queuing: https://www.seetickets.com/event/dulwich-hamlet-vs-slough-town/champion-hill-stadium-london/1294636

We've been to Dulwich Tandoori and Memsaab quite lot recently ? so maybe Surma? And we haven't been to Mirash for ages, but I'm not sure how many fans of it there are... -

Hmmm, something about this video doesn't quite smell right. Not that I thing these scenes have all been staged (and some of them simply look like kids falling off), but they've been put together in a clever way to scare the little scrotes. I'm pretty sure the police are aware of the legal implications of deliberately running someone down and causing serious injury or death. But if the deterrent effect of this video works, then fine. -
Dulwich Hamlet return to Champion Hill on Boxing Day! This just announced: "Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and Dulwich Hamlet Supporters? Trust are pleased to announce a hat trick of games to celebrate our return to Champion Hill with the first home league game confirmed as our Boxing Day fixture against Eastbourne Borough at 3pm on Wednesday December 26, 2018 closely followed by two more, against Slough Town at 3pm on Saturday December 29, 2018 and then against Bath City at 3pm on Saturday January 5, 2019." There had been hopes to 'come home' for the Torquay United game on December 1st, but questions of crowd size, ticketing and stewarding means that game will be the last one played at Tooting & Mitcham FC. It's possible that there might be an earlier game at Champion Hill in the FA Trophy on December 15th, but that would mean beating Welling Utd away this Saturday in the previous round and then getting a home draw.

Southwark Council Transport Planning Consultation

Well, the proposed Grove Vale CPZ six years ago was rejected by local residents despite the council being strongly in favour, so there's hope for local decision-making. Or at least there was then. -
I write the crossword for the local "Dulwich Diverter" paper and I thought DHFC fans might like my latest offering ? see the first answer across. If you look at the second and third answers across, you'll find a message :)
