Hope this thread dies a quick death. Shouldn't that be 'extreme right-wing' or some such? I'm sure you're not excluding people with right-wing views* from any debate? * Disclaimer: I don't have right-wing views and never have.
But the 'Best pub' awards are not run by CAMRA. Both the Blythe Hill Tavern and the Ivy House deserve their CAMRA awards as they're excellent real ale pubs. By contrast, the 'Best pub' awards are run by the "National Pub & Bar Awards", an industry organisation that includes American Budweiser among its sponsors.
If they're moneybags city boys, why would they bother saving a few quid by wanting to park in ED? It's nonsense. The 'commuter' parking is nearly all local, as the council discovered when it proposed the Grove Vale CPZ.
Interesting developments off the field ? the DHFC football committee chairman has confirmed the following: ? From the start of next season, the club will be run on a day to day basis by a new Executive Committee made up of the club's stakeholders from within the club and from local business and the council. ? We aim to shortly be able to attract new investment to the club through an issue of new shares. This will make sure the club is on a sound financial footing. So more council involvement and more money to support the club, which will either dilute or nullify the shares owned by Nick McCormack which are currently 'controlled' by Meadow Residential. We're promised more details soon. This is very good news in that it suggests the club can get itself onto a firmer financial footing and be immune to Meadow's attempts to destroy it. Although, of course, the ultimate goal is to return to Champion Hill.

Yes, it's fundamentally OK, with a capacity of 3,000, though the club must show the possibility of increasing that in the future to 4,000. Some pitch perimeter fencing changes might be needed though. But nothing fundamental.

Next year..! Ah, thanks! I was in Mitcham yesterday biting my nails and then celebrating Dulwich Hamlet's victory, so didn't notice any local swifts :-)
Just heard the first swift of the year near Dulwich Hospital. Summer is definitely on the way. Here's how the arrival compares to previous years: 2011 ? May 9 2012 ? May 1 2013 ? May 17 2014 ? May 8 2015 ? May 9 2016 ? May 4 2017 - May 6 2018 ? May 8

No, they'll be back, but it might take a while.
