  2. what did you do/say when they told you to go away (from your own bin & garden!)??
  3. jane1 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just come home to find 2 young woman going through > my bins, as soon as they saw me they dropped every > thing and walked away, Sounds like the same 2 women I saw one morning last summer going through bins on Upland Rd. They had trollys with them stuffed full of their 'finds'. They also worked their way down my road as came home one day to find one of my rubbish bags opened & left on top of the wheelie. I'm a bit surprised that they are still around. Thought they'd long gone. Apparently not.
  4. It's a shame if they are going to pull it down. Such a grand building & landmark. It would be great as a pub restaurant, something like the old harvester or weatherspoons.
  5. There are no doggie poo bins or signs on any of the roads around here. I think there should be some.
  6. Did you see the post by Lamo on here? Sounds like it's a connected incident. They said they reported the reg no & description to the police as the man looked shifty.
  7. What has The Patch closing down got to do with this?
  8. I live close to the shop & never realised what it was, walking past it, to use the shops either side. I just presumed it was some sort of venue company, specialising in parties, christenings, weddings, baby showers & that sort of thing mainly because of the sugar icing colours of the exterior & interior - balloons tied to the railings & strange little gatherings of people having what looked like birthday tea parties outside the shop, sometimes with awful(sorry) live music. Very odd indeed.

I used to think the same, till one day I found my own nice clean road covered in big dollops of poo :(

  12. where was the photo posted?
  13. @ dulwichbased. How would the council know if you just stuffed the leaves in black bin bags? You can buy 50 black bin bags for ?2 (Iceland). ?10 for 10 green bin bags is madness.
  14. Lots of police cars & ambulance outside around 5.30pm. Anyone know what happened there?
  15. I'm really not excited to hear the lovely little sweetshop is being replaced by a dog shop, or rather a dog museum by the look of the silly prices.
  16. yes ok,that needs reporting in, but why is OP requesting to 'get a crossing' by Barry's when it is there already. That is a crossing isn't it?

What exactly is wrong with the crossing at Barry's? I'm sorry I don't get it. Is it the timer on the lights or speed limits?
  18. LondonMix Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nope-- here is the website. You shop online and > delivery is free > > http://groceries.iceland.co.uk/ I've tried it but unfortunately they don't deliver to East Dulwich at present.

I don't think Tesco & Sainsbury's are that cheap & it's not just about cheap for me as there are things I like to buy in Iceland that I can't get in Co-op. The Iceland in Peckham is crap compared to the one on Lordship Lane & no way handy for me.
  20. Bring back the garden centre & the police station xx
  21. yes, very sad. They did say it was going on facebook. It was a lovely little shop. A lot of really nice shops seem to be disappearing. All that will be left soon is estate agents & hairdressers :(

  23. Just realised there aren't even that many Chinese takeaways round here to try out.
  24. Hi thanks. I've just removed the old lavender hedge & prepared the bed for planting. Luckily the soil was treated & is perfect for growing lavender. I read somewhere that it could be planted till Aug included but wondered if anyone had done this successfully. I was rather hoping to get the plants in before next spring to give them a head start.
  25. Is it too late to plant a lavender hedge in August?
