  1. We had our brown bin collection last Saturday and noticed bin men took some small trees from neighbours ok (have an artificial one so no problem for me). Then again just around the corner there's lots of big trees left on the pavement.
  2. Thought the OP was asking about the lowlights of the past 12 months? Sir Winston has been called all kinds of names!
  3. So glad! I've seen the posters up and that's great news!
  4. I do think that some of your requirements come over as quite elitist, especially 'difficult to judge on exam results when the pupils who attend are from different backgrounds of course'.
  5. Hope you've had a reply from the OP but understand they are a shift worker not able to use their phone etc. Also, just to say from a previous poster, Sainsburys at DKH are very reluctant to offer any freebies/summer/xmas fair/raffles out to community causes. Apparently they have their own charities. I asked for a few freebies a few years ago and what I asked for was still sitting on their shelves weeks later but that's in the past!
  6. Wherever you live or work it's the last weekend before Christmas so expect lots of traffic and delays! There's already enough buses, trains, tubes but just too many people!
  7. Thanks for the heads-up and sorry you had your phone stolen. Been warning my own about using their phones on the street as seen on the news in previous weeks.
  8. No beef at all sailor! Just a different opinion.
  9. This has brought back memories when my mum and dad used tea leaves. Just can't remember when tea bags came in! We had a special spoon which came from India to measure out the tea. Can still picture the spoon now.
  10. Let's hope that's good news for the OP.
  11. Results were in the Evening Standard.
  12. Neither really but they are the professionals and they have guidelines to adhere to.
  13. I would take them just as a precaution! Birth certificates!
  14. OP has not commented since posting. Soon there will be parents delaying their child's entrance into Year 1. I do feel for the teachers and especially the Head Teacher who have to make individual decisions!
  15. You can't go wrong with books and more books!
  16. Agree. Both sides of traffic were stuck at stalemate for 10 minutes yesterday afternoon and I was at the front but cars overtook me as lost patience! I continued following them the short distance between the temporary traffic lights as had to keep up with traffic flow!
  17. A nice meal for two in a local restaurant?
  18. Hope the French playgroup comes together in the end!
  19. There's a lot of similar illnesses making the rounds with kids and adults so sorry to hear you're suffering again. Maybe your GP has prescribed the antibiotic to treat an ear, nose or throat infection. As you say antibiotics don't help viruses but maybe your GP thought there was something going on that needed Penicillin. Looking up illnesses and medications on the internet brings up all kinds of information which can sometimes be worrying. Believe me I'm going through it now and it can make you more anxious! Rheumatic fever and I think cholera is thankfully treatable now.
  20. On tonight.
  21. Not sure what you mean about things to throw away?

What absolute drivel.
  23. Horse
  24. Ris2011 did you manage to get an answer from the Half Moon?
  25. I'm sure you're right.
