Seeing as this seems to have gone down a "Behold - insert random foodstuff here" sort of road I remembered this: The 6 Most Terrifying Foods in the World Challenge: How may of these would you eat without coercion, just to say you had? How many with coercion? I score 2 and then 5. Only no 6 would I not touch to save my own damned life. They're all fecking grim though. Funny foreigners and their odd foodstuffs. What's wrong with a sausage on a stick wrapped in pancake mix?

The greatest food stuff known to man... Ladies and Gentlemen, may I proudly present, in association with the Guardian Newspaer Group (who I shamelessly ripped this off of) and the British Heart/Liver/Bowel Disease Society...... The one, the only, Jimmy Dean's..... PANCAKE AND SAUSAGE ON A STICK Pancake batter covering a sausage link - chocolate chip flavour (also available in Blueberry)

Well their shares are down nearly 10% this morning and have halved over three months. So, not good then. But to go belly-up? Bradford and Bingley look equally worrying. Down 25% this morning and worth less than a quarter what they were 3 months ago.

Oooh, Sutton Utd used ot be local non-league team from back home. They've just had a terrible season and got relegated from the Ryman South. They play in a lovely brown and mustard kit. Dang, it's when I'm on hols....someone go a shout som abuse at the Sutton players for me!

Where is Mr Black with some photos? He's very slow this month. So unlike him. Although given the state I was in I wonder whether asking for pictorial evidence is wise?

Ooh, and.... Folk legend Richard Thompson does Britney (no, not like that!)

Threatened with knife by Goose Green (Lounged)
david_carnell replied to seanmlow's topic in The Lounge
Repeated stats show that police foot patrols do little or nothing to reduce crime. The average foot patrol sees one crime being committed every fours years and even then isn't guaranteed to catch the perpitrator. They are one of the most ineffectual methods of policing and yet people still clamour for them. Bizarre. I live nearly opposite said newsagents and have never experienced any trouble there or in the nearby area. I sympathise with Seanmlow's situation but do not think it is representative of a more widescale problem. Nor is the idea that "half-way houses" are full of "druggies" whose aim is to do nothing but steal your valuables with threats of violence particulary helpful. These are often societies most vunerable members, suffering from mental health issues of with histories of being victims themselves. The idea that "parts of of East Dulwich are more than 'unsafe' - they're dangerous" is frankly ridiculous. Both myself and my two female housemates often walk around alone after dark and have never encountered any problems. The culture of fear that some members of this forum insist on trying to foist on others is beginning to become depressing. You live in a lovely part of one of the world's greatest cities and yet continually seek to find reasons to loathe it and its inhabitants. Problems exist, of that there is no doubt, but for the vast majority of the people, for the vast majority of the time this is a safe and pleasant place to live and work. Enjoy it for once. -
It's nearly 24 hrs since this all started and I stil hurt! Had a marvellous time however. The Herne was a good summer venue with excellent real beer. Richard and Mona (people, people, come on!) were lovely newcomers, Strawbs the perfect wife and I have a fellow Laphroig lover in PGC (if not Chav). Lovely to have a few folks back to mine afterwards, hopefully you're all suffering as much as me. Oh, and Chav.....I remember every torrid word of what you said but will keep it to myself until I need a favour! Your secrets are (currently) safe. I'm on holiday for the next one so see you all in two months....

I don't normally like blowing my own trumpet (oh, who am I kidding?!) but *cough*, *cough*.... Mr Admin, could I have a telegram please for my 1000th post is this very one. I currently suffer from stage three of Forumitis but have no fear in the knowledge that there are some out there whose posting levels are soooo high that they shall remain atop the plateau of stage 4 obsessiveness unmolested by my presence. There are some things one is never meant to accomplish! This feat has taken me just over a year to achieve and I can safely say that I have met some new lovely people, kept myself sane at work, occassionaly said things I've regretted, and genuinely had a smashing time. God bless the Forum - and all who sail in her.

Ahhh.... Say hello Piers and I'm sure one or two of us might stand you a pint. But only if you can tell us an interesting fact about Benin!

Hospital Admissions Data - Violent Youth Crime
david_carnell replied to Huguenot's topic in The Lounge
Great post Huguenot. I noted that 40% figure with intrigue. Considering London's massive;y disproportionate population with any other British city we're not doing too badly. Gun crime is falling amongst children/teens. This is a positive step. I wonder what changes to education/law enforcement/justice have occurred that has resulted in this fall. Could the same steps be repeated with knives? And Mancs and Scousers seem trigger happy! Worrying. -
Q. What do Mark Boucher and Michael Jackson have in common? A. They both wear gloves for no apparent reason.

More a sign that we no longer see former colonials as much of a threat at anything anymore so we now plan to dominate at other nation's national games. If only the Safas had managed to get round to inventing a sport rather than having to play all of ours we could go on a trip there but in the meantime we look forward to an easy test series this summer.... ....led by our best player, a South African. Ummm, I'm sure I had a point here somewhere???

For what it's worth when I was at school (about a decade ago, give and take) racist language was few and far between. "Gay" was used extensively as an insult, however. An all-boys grammar school in Surrey if that makes any difference. Sad I know. And, I'm ashamed to admit I cannot say I never did it. Hopefully we all can look back on our childhood and wish we hadn't done certain things. This is certainly one of mine. It's certainly something I regret now. And I know for a fact that we had some gay boys there and I should think they had a fairly torrid time of it.
