I drove up and down Lordship Lane about 4 times over the weekend. I inevitably stopped at the pedestrian crossing and didn?t for a moment feel at all irritated by it, even though the one time there was nobody crossing. I walked down Lordship Lane once this weekend, pushed the button on the light by Iceland and then carried on and j-walked a bit further down. Just out of principle you see. ;-)

There is always this argument. Say you are in the pub and there is a group of people chatting. They all have different views on a topic which are generating discussion and controversy. You feel that you have some valuable input and want to put a word in. You can: 1 ? Pipe up saying that they are all a bunch of idiots, you know better and further more you don?t like the way any of them are dressed or the accents they speak with. 2 ? Say, ?Hello, excuse me but have you thought of it this way?? Which do you think is going to get the better reaction? Personally I think that option 1 is a lot more fun but don?t go crying to mommy if you aren?t up for the fight you started.

185 to Vauxhall is quicker and more reliable than the 37 to Clapham junction in my experience. Although it can still take up to 40 minutes. You?re probably better off before 8am. Just make sure you pay your fare mind.

Because it?s a local board for local people it isn?t that easy for people to just hide behind a username and be indignant with all and sundry. The people on here are the folks you share the bus with in the morning or wave to over your fence on a Saturday. It gives people a bit more respect for one another?s opinions than they would (I imagine) on another kind of message board. Having said that you are all mostly wrong about most things most of the time. I?m just too lazy to get into it.

Just got back from the pub and had a wee epiphany on the way home. Twas about what we were talking about on this thread and I realised that NOFX* had inadvertently written a very poignant song about this topic. This song was inspired by the republicans grabbing power in the states almost ten years ago now. But I think it could be a fair reflection of the fascists getting all jolly-hockey-sticks about their mighty heroic buy-?lecition wins on this little insular island at the moment. *One of my favourite punk bands even though they?re a bunch of idiots? But I don?t want to get into that.

I didn?t watch much of it but did switch over to serendipitously catch the Bosnia Herzegovina number. I have to say it was one of the most entertaining things I have seen on the idiot box* in a long time. It was even quite a good song. *Now that most of them aren?t boxes anymore but rather tray like things do we have to think up new slang?
