How Long Have You Lived In East Dulwich?

Since April 1998.

Came to London in 1989 (From Durham...I consider it to be missionary work....) having tried Maida Vale, Highgate, Wimbledon Park, Putney & Wimbledon Chase before arriving here.

I see there is still much work to do..... ;-)

Too right there is, compared to all the places you've lived in before, ED must feel positively primative.

A year less than Tillie. Wandered around London nomadically since '94. First truly felt at home in ED though.

In Camberwell (AKA East Dulwichish) for about 19 years.

Before that Brighton for 3 years.

I've only been here since the 1st February this year - and it's already my favourite place I've ever lived - and I've had 12 addresses in the past 13 years!

Ealing before that.

Plymouth before that for 15 years.

Solihull before that for 18 years.

Before that I had lived in Cheam and then Epsom in Surrey. This is a bit of an improvement from deepest, darkest Surrey I can tell you.

So I actually have done North, South, East and West.... and this place is definitely the best!

Not quite 5 months in ED. Not quite 6 months in the UK!

Ended up in ED mainly through luck, but very happy I ended up here! The weather is a bit worse than my last place though. :(

Is this a competition? If so started in Longford..Dublin..Hackney..Tower Bridge(outside of it but near enough)..Hanwell..East Acton..West Hampstead..Hammersmith..Streatham..Fulham..one or two I can't remember and East Dulwich 20 years. What do I score?

october 1992 via 6 months previous in ealing.

Moved to Dulwich 7 years ago after 15 years in the Elephant, lots of places before that but not in London.

I thought I was ancient and reading all this confirms that I am, have lived in East Dulwich since 1950 - grew up in Spurling Road (which was designated slum clearance twice) moved to Forest Hill in 1969 - to escape the damp rot and fungi in our lounge. Extended family lived in Landells road, I returned to ED -1971 and live within a mileof my childhood haunts.
