Yeah his mega put on hard cockney accent do my head in, but loved him as Moff in Human Traffic, and like football factory too. Wasn't he in High heels and low lives too? That was a film I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would!!!

Lady Vengeance wasn't as sharp as the other two but it looked great. It seemed to be trying too hard to labour the point. Still had me riveted.

I liked Save the Green Planet - demented and funny and just strange.

Brotherhood is the completely over the top melodramatic war film. Massive budget and it looked great but was too much on the family drama I thought.

Of course if we're talking Asian films generally we should have a new thread but I have to mention my fave film ever. Number 1 best movie of all time: Kung Fu Hustle. Genius! Hilarity. Comedic mayhem. Mad Hong Kong lunacy. Slapstick, digital effects, great visual jokes and loads of references to kung fu films of the past. Shots:

The Bourne films were great. I really enjoyed Die Hard 4.0 on a plane the other day because it is so ridiculous, silly and predictable I just found it superb.

The Lord of the Rings, I also love Full Metal Jacket and all of the Bond films. (I'm not very girly, am I!?)

Haven't been to the cinema for over three years, as I hate, hate HATE it! Can't sit still for long enough. :'(

On the subject of kids animated films, (which I noticed in another thread) ;-) you can't beat the Lemurs in Magagascar.

I often agree with you about films, and Mrs Keef loves this, but for me, it's one of the most over rated films I've ever seen. I just find the characters annoying, and can't sit through it (having tried on many occasions). Maybe one day it'll just click, but usually it just makes me go to sleep.

Couple of my all time faves...

Dangerous Liasons (and thought Cruel Intentions did a good job of modernizing it, and Ryan Phillipe was good in the John Malkovich role), Last of the Mohicans (used to have such a crush on Johdi May), Sunset Blvd, True Romance, Human Traffic, Romeo & Juliet (The modern 90's version, guess it's a love it or hate it thing, but I think it just looked stunning).

Comedy, often stupid, but make me laugh.

Coming to America, Dodgeball, Team America, Some like it hot, Neapolean Dynamite.

I love watching films, and not even ashamed to admit that I sometimes enjoy a bit of "rom com" or "teen movies" (I like 10 things I hate about you"( but it is based on Shakespeare darling) ;-) , and "Never been kissed".

I love the Am Dram scene in Hot Fuzz as the production of Romeo & Juliet ends in a hurried rendition of Love Fool, great.

Was torn on Pan's Labyrinth. I enjoyed watching it, but thought it had a good story to tell, and didn't really need the fairytale stuff... Mrs Keef did exactly the same as Bumbelina!

I with you on this Mockney. Bruce Robinson's script and direction is flawless. There are just so many classic lines in it. Along with A Clockwork Orange it's one of my all-time favourite films and still makes me laugh like a drain whenever I see it. I first saw it at the Haymarket cinema when it came out and had a certain George Melly sitting two rows in front of me with a young chicken either side of him and couldn't help make the comparison to Uncle Monty in the film.

Am I the only one who didn't like the Bourne film? It's one of my fave books that I love to reread and the film was so disappointing and somewhat off plot.

Pan's Labyrinth - brilliant. Needed the fairytale stuff to detract from the hideous violence, he was nasty. The monster with no eyes is one of the best. Anyone seen Hellboy made by same chap?

There'a a whole season of Wim Wenders movies at the BFI Southbank starting in January including the very wonderful Alice in the Cities. Anyone seen that?

No but I watched 'Until The End Of The World' recently which I first watched about 13 years ago and had thought was great. What a pile of doo doo, what was I thinking? addled brain in early 90's I think
