Hi

I am expecting my first baby at the end of May and would also love to meet some other new mums in the area. I am in Honor Oak Park but East Dulwich/ Peckham Rye are near enough to walk for a coffee. I am off work early due to redundancy so I am around most of the time. Let me know if there are any plans to meet up.

Jemma

Hello all,

firstly, congratulations on your pregnancies and new borns to those who have already arrived! I hope you are all doing well.

I am new to the group and expecting my second baby on 4th May, my daughter is just over 3 1/2 and in nursery 4 days a week. I am now on maternity leave and would love to meet up with other mums-to-be. I won't being attending NCT classes this time around so I'm hoping this forum will provide a good opportunity for some socialising and support.....I am sure I have forgotten everything from the first time around though!

Are there any regular meet ups arranged or is this something we could do? Apologies if I have missed anything!

Really look forward to meeting you and your little ones soon!

Hi all,

hope yesterday's meet up went well... a few of us who were at Dulwich Park (and the EDT the week before) were thinking it would be good to set up a weekly meet at the same place and same day and time so that all our collective baby brains could cope! It would also be fairly relaxed, 'drop in' as it gets much harder to get out the house when the baby arrives (from memory - it was a result if i was dressed by midday...)

Not sure if it is up and running yet but I think the Clock House is starting a mother & baby/toddler drop in mornings Mon-Friday 9-12. It sounds like it could be a good venue as it would have activities for those bringing siblings, proper coffee and sofas etc and its near the park for sunny days.

I have to confess never been there but why dont we give it a try...?

What about Tuesdays 11ish?

Hope those who were overdue/due when I last saw them are doing well.

Jude xxx

i think that sounds like a good plan - i doubt i will make next tuesday as currently three days overdue but based on how late i went with my daughter i could still be preggers on tuesday maybe a walk down there would help speed it along!

Great idea although the one o'clock club runs on a Tuesday morning in the hut in Peckham rye park and we always go to that at that time (10-12pm) A lot of mums go with their new baby and toddler as your toddler can run around and do all the activities so think will stick to going. What about doing the clock house regular meetup on a Thursday am? as I don't think there's much on then. Whatever the majority think i guess.

I'm due on Sunday and in unchartered waters as my first was a month early!!

Katie

Hi all

A regular arrangement sounds good. Either clock house or Peckham rye one o clock club works for us...what is the consensus? It will be good to have something for the toddlers to do too!

Katiesa - good luck, my first was just over two weeks early and second was a week late... Was climbing the walls by the end!

Looking forward to meeting up xx

Hi ladies, I'm up for a regular meet now I am off work too. Tuesdays are fine by me (my toddler is staying on at nursery). Interested to try the clock house as that's new, but the cafe/club is always a winner too. Maybe we could try clock house next week and see what people think?

Jennie (3wks to go!)

Hello ladies

Very much looking forward to catching up soon, on maternity leave now but have a sickly 19 mo and have to move house so not quite the relaxing experience I was hoping for! Will be around for catch ups any day, toddler will be in nursery every day but Wednesday, Tuesday's or Thursday's as suggested would suit us well, might even manage a coffee and conversation without the older one!

Tracey

Hi All

The Clock House on Thursdays sounds good to me. My 3 year old will be in nursery for the morning & it's within walking distance, so I will be able to come along with our new little lady who is now 4 weeks old! We have yet to make one of the meet ups & I'm still trying to master getting out of the house with 2 little people, I think we're getting better at it!? Maybe in the next week or two once life doesn't seem so crazy I'll get to meet some of you, there might even be more babies than bumps by then :)

Paula

Let's try clock house on thursdays and for those that wish the one o'clock club at peckham rye park on Tuesday's ... That way there is something for everyone

My daughter is likely to be at nursery both those days

Start next week? For those that haven't just given birth...!

Hi ladies, to those of you who i have met, my baby girl arrived on Saturday. Home birth!!! Didn't think i was going to manage that. HOpe to meet up with you all week after next? Both tues and thurs work for me but tues is prob preferable. Maybe we can have two meet ups a week to keep everybody happy? I'm sure there are enough babies being born this spring and that will give everybody a bit of flexibility. I went to the clock house the night my labour started. I hadn't been before it was decorated but the new refurb looks good and the food was good too. Fi x

Hi all,

so, I think I am right in thinking we have agreed on two meet up per week which will hopefully accommodate all:

Starting this week:

Tuesdays @ 11am at Peckham Rye Cafe (or maybe this is the one o'clock club for those with their little ones?)

Thursdays @ 11am (?) at The Clockhouse

Please let me know if you agree/disagree!?

Congratulations Fi, I am hoping for a home birth too, fingers crossed!

Gemma

Hi all, my little one, a second boy, arrived at home early hours of Friday morning in two hours!! so not going to make meetups for another week. Loving having a little baby again and trying not to get scared by the actual practicalities of two!!!!

Hi all,

Congratulations Fi and Katie on your respective home births... Midwife thinks mine may end up being one as likely to be quick eek

Yes, the plan is to start this week with two drop in meets and see how we go ... 11 prob about right?

I am definitely up for at least one ... Is anyone planning to attend either? Am just trying to fit in a last visit to work too this week as well as waddling to nursery drop off!

Hi ladies, congratulations on the new babies!

Unfortunately as my daughter is back at nursery this week I won't be able to make any of the planned meet ups at 11 (her half day sessions end at 12 and I need to go pick her up :-(

As I have another 2 year old boy I am happy to meet up any other parents with toddlers at the play groups - either Peckham one o'clock club or tumble - is anyone planning on attending either today?

    • Nasty piece of work. Targets locations with a healthy independent presence and farmers’ markets; typical vampire capitalism. Great supporter of a Brexit too. All good reasons to go elsewhere, preferably small independent.,
    • Hi, oglander , Congratulations on your soon-to-arrive little lion - how exciting! It's always lovely to hear someone taking the adoption route (shelters are having a major crisis at the moment!). I've been in business for 15 years & can say with certainty that most cat owners in Dulwich have catflaps so, not only are they easy to have installed, but you shouldn't find yourself short of helping hands on these local forums. A catflap is a brilliant way to keep your little lion safely in overnight as well as generally keeping track of their comings & goings. I'd be happy to walk you through the set up once you've chosen your model (SureFlap & PetSafe are two popular brands). I'm sure the rescue has already advised, but just in case they haven't, it'll be very important to keep your newly adopted cat housebound for the first 2 weeks to familiarise themselves with their new home. Once they've scent-mapped the house, you can gradually begin letting them out to explore & scent-map the garden. Exciting times! x
    • Hello all,  If your child goes to this gym club: since the new payment system, have you received clear information about the cost per session, the cost per term and when sessions will be omitted eg for school opened days? (I have asked the club, more than once, no full response so far) This term started in late August, before school had gone back (did many attend that session?). Next term there is no break for half term, so there are 12 sessions to be paid. Does that seem to be more sessions than there used to be?    I am sure they are doing their best, but the info from the new auto pay system isn’t detailed enough, and the auto pay just takes an unspecified amount. I wondered if it’s just me (wanting more detail), or if there are others too? (my child loves the gym itself!) thanks
    • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent service! We had one of Paul Edgley’ s team come to fit some new lights in our living room. They were able to come at reasonably short notice, arrived on time, were friendly and professional, and did a great job. Everything was left clean and tidy afterwards, and the lights look fantastic. Highly recommend! Paul’s contact details are 07802 627967
