Council probably have removed him/her, they have to do this unfortunately. If someone was worried it was their cat you can normally call the council office and check, my brother had to do this when his cat went missing and they confirmed they had collected a dead cat from the road near his the day before. Its unfortunate but I guess they have to do it to stop foxes etc from eating it. Very sad as I'm a bit cat fan!

I've called the Council and they've been as helpful as possible, but apparently when a cat is picked up it is bagged and then becomes hazardous waste. It's put in the freezer until incineration day. They are not allowed to reopen the bag so I can't go in and identify it and they don't have the facility to read chips.

They are trying to get more information from the street operative concerned, and will ring me back.

    • Hey fellow cat owners! Was hoping that you would consider putting collars with bells on your outside cats? I’ve wee fledglings in a nest and at the moment I’m defending them against an orange and white dude (I call him Trump) and his nemesis, a lovely Tuxedo cat (I call Elon)… they are quite the double act in my back garden!!!! It would give the wee ones a bit of a better chance if a bell could announce their approach. And as a feline owner myself, I know cats will be cats, but every little helps even the odds. many thanks.
