East Dulwich not good enough for you then?

Loz, you suggest my last post is a bit of skewed logic, and I guess it might be construed as such only that we are talking about emotional human beings here, not logical machines. The Highway code makes mention of vulnerable people like the old, disabled and young. These poeple may not cross the road using the higher powers of logic that you demand. It still stands that the onus is on the driver to be careful. Some of the posts on here suggest that it is the driver's right to drive in an unimpeded manner. Maybe - but it is also the drivers responsibility to drive with due care and attention, even if the pedestrian is acting illogically.

God no, unless i'm wanting to waste my hard earned cash on some "organic" produce or some overpriced tat in a waste of time and space gift shop, or for that matter buying some drab clothing from White Stuff. Great place to shop, not! Bromley has a huge shopping complex with variety and choice, ED has boutiques and indos aimed at snobs (apart from a few unmentioned shops I remain loyal to). Jah, there is is a world outside of ED, it's known as the real world, it's a shame a few more people dont visit it now and then.

Louisa.

Hi,

Just to clarify matters... A person in control of a vehicle has a duty of care at all times to other road users no matter if it is a car, van, lorry or bus. The driver should be fully observant.

The point I was trying to make was that I indicate at all times irrespective of any pedestrian and irrespective of other road user's. Given that the pedestrian shows no sign of crossing a road and then suddenly enters the road without warning is where the problem is.

Also, just to clarify the other point, I think that I am right in describing the Peckham situation. For instance, and I stand to be corrected, if someone was to describe being robbed, the person would say he was white or black or whatever. They also describe someone as being a devout Catholic, as in the case of the poor lad from Lee. I mentioned the word Muslim because it was relevant as the women could not see properly due to their headwear and therefore should take more care in pushing their children out into a bus, given that they have restricted vision.

Regards,

Libra Carr.

I didn't see the women Libra Carr is talking about so he must have the final say, but I've never seen a Muslim woman in a headscarf that wasn't tightly bound to her head, and which would not obstruct her vision at all.

Also-hurrah, this thread is now officially complete as Louisa has brought in the word snobs. Do we think she could be playing ED Buzzword Bingo?

Cross-post with Asset...

Loving your posts, Libra.

Ahh.. BROMLEY.. land of the, er, well..

Don't take it from me.. take it from 'Princess Candz', of 'The Bromley Crew':

"OMG why the f*ck is becky in the fuckin bromley crew she anit even bin in bromley 4 as long as we have i dnt give a shit if liam is goin out with her or if she has bin here for 1 yr or how eva long it is ??*?*

byee love ya kc josh maz megs and becks and kirsty ? ? ? ? ?"

What a load of b*llox, The Glades is a decent complimentary indoor shopping centre to the great high street in Bromley. It is a mixture of independent local stores and larger branded groups and it works wonderfully well. LL is just a small backstreet comparably where you cant buy everything you want in one go unless you fancy being taken to the cleaners like half of the so called chattering classes seem to enjoy since moving in and turning the place into pointless gift shop hell. Funny thing is if we had a peak into half of the wardrobes of the snobs on here who dislike Bromley so much because it isnt "edgy inner south london turned richmond on thames", we would no doubt find items from various branded stores which sit alongside the indies throughout our great city.

Snobbery really is pointless.

Louisa.

I've not been to Bromley for many years. I declare that Bromley is not a patch on Croydon: Whitgift Centre, High Street, North End, The new(ish) Centraaaal a few "edgier" shops dotted here, there and everywhere, plus 2 purpose built P?tanque pistes in Ashburton park. What more could a person want?

It's only a train / 197 ride away AND it also has a Tex Mex restaurant which appears to be in no danger of closing down any time soon.

E2A:

The most retarded pedestrians, IMHO, are those that step out in front of cyclists at the Camberwell Green crossroad. I make no apologies for any bumps, bashes or near miss induced shocks caused solely by their failure to observe the simple "Red man = don't walk, green man = walk" system in place there.

    • If you're talking about who I think you are, I find them more exuberant than rude and usually smiling and polite. But then, I'm usually smiling and polite to them. Can you not wedge open your gate when you're expecting them?
    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
