I'm sorry I couldn't makke the meet up on Saturday, I bumped into Tomo at the playground on Sunday and she said how lovely it was to meet up. I work full time so can't manage weekdays, but am around with toddler most weekends or could do toddler free evenings if anyone fancies that?

Hi there,

I agree. It was lovely to meet new people on Saturday. I rushed home to tell my husband that actually the 'nub theory' holds much more promise than I originally thought!

I'd be keen to meet again, but as i work full time an evening or weekend is best for me.

Maybe we could arrange a pizza night at the actress? Or a quick dinner at The Victoria again one evening.

I hope everyone is well.

speak soon

SJK.

Sorry to have missed you all last weekend but look forward to meeting soon.

I also work full time so weekdays are difficult for me. Weekends are easiest for me (between toddler classes...) or very happy to try to make an evening (work permitting) as SJK suggests.

Intrigued to hear about the 'nub theory' too...

Tuesday 23rd during day would be good for me and toddler. Another weekend/evening would also be great to catchup with the working mums to be, pizza at Actress sounds like a fab idea or Vic Inn again.

Couple of dates to get it rolling, purely pulled out the hat if they don't accommodate people other suggestions welcome Thurs 25th Sept or Sat 27th?

It's my wedding anniversary 25th too! Could do 27th potentially although I'm saying that having not checked with my husband... Actually he's out on Friday night so I am owed a night out...although I'm working all day Saturday so might end up flopping with tiredness. In theory I love the idea of an evening, generally can't do Monday to Thursday nights because of evening teaching so Friday to Sunday best for me.

I'm free on Tuesday 23rd during the day, morning without toddler, afternoon with...is that still in the mix?

Hello everyone - I am SO excited to find this thread! I have a 2.5 year old toddler (boy) and am expecting my second around 11th December. So happy to see so many second timers, and looking forward to meeting some first time mum's too!

Unfortunately I'm also working full time, although I work from home on Fridays so I can usually arrange my day so I can nip out for a bit, and will try and make any weekend meet ups. I go on maternity leave from the 7th November (have saved up loads of holiday, hooray!), so will be much easier then!

My son is currently in nursery 4 days a week, but we're taking him down to 2 days a week from November as it's just too expensive for us to leave him in longer than that... but he's so happy there I don't really want to take him out, so hoping we can make that work. Will be interesting juggling him and a new born... gulp!

I saw a few dates banded about - I could make the 19th or the 27th if those go ahead. I'm away on the 4th, so won't be able to make that one.

Really looking forward to meeting up - I had the best time on my last maternity leave as there were so many like minded people around, so looking forward to this one being every bit as good! Although I am nervous about having a new born in the winter... my son was born in March and it was so easy getting out and about in the spring! I feel it'll take a bit more effort this time round...

Hope you're all well - look forward to meeting you!

AnyaJoeli - I keep telling myself that at least swaddling will be easier (I hope... my son hated it!) and that because it's dark maybe it'll be easier to get back to sleep... um... and by the time the summer comes we'll be well out of the newborn phase so we'll make the most of being out and about... Or am I completely clutching at straws?!!

Hi All,

I would love to join a group as we are moving to Honor Oak Park next month and don't know many people in the area. I am a first timer and due Decemember 16th. Would be great to meet some mom friends! :) I just got back from Holiday and read this post but I am free during the day so hopefully can come to the next meet up.

Hi everyone - lovely to find so many other expecting ladies - i'm due around christmas time so would love to meet up with you all. I work from home so am pretty flexible with days and times.. just let me know what dates you all decide on. I also have a dog so am always around for early morning or late afternoon dog walks too if anyone fancies a walk and chat.. either ruskin park/brockwell or dulwich park. carolynnx

Hi All, just came across this post on the forum. I am expecting my first baby on the 17th January. I am still working full time, planning to work until Xmas, so I am only available in the evenings or weekends.

I saw a post about yoga, I am going to Yogarise in Pechkam on Tuesday evening, Yazmin is really good, but I will try to make it on Saturday mornings to Gaia as recommended above.

It would be lovely to meet up, I hope I can make it to the second meeting!

Hi there, I hope everyone is well.

I thought I'd write as there are a few more people joining up and it would be lovely to have another meet-up.

I know it's tricky for some to do in the week because of work commitments, so what about a weekend again?

I'm trying to scroll back over the thread as I know some had holidays and so on booked in. I think the dates below are free, but I may well stand corrected.

We could do:

Saturday 11 October for morning coffee (I will probably need to bring toddler).

OR:

Saturday 18 October - we go crazy and have a Saturday night meet up in The Actress ( I will most definitely be leaving toddler at home ;-)) They do a mean pizza so we could treat ourselves! (And I am persistently starving so this is all good!)

Does anyone fancy either of these, or both?

Sophie x

I couldn't make the last meet-up but I'd still love to meet some other mums. I can do the 11th Oct (might even be toddler-free as my parents are visiting that weekend! oooh what a treat ;-)

Can't make the 18th though so ditto what Joanna 77 said - if the 18th works better for everyone else I'll come to the next one :-)

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
