Ok, I meant 'high street prime locations' - they're usually at least 2-3 streets away from all the action.

there's currently no hi-fi shop in ED that's of any use, it'd be a good thing

Strange that people should be Anti-Richersounds, I've always thought it was an excellent franchise offering decent hi-fi equipment at factory direct prices(no I dont work for them). Better that than another bookies/indian/knick-knack shop. Bring it on and shame on all those dissenting voices. (tu)

Agreed.

I think some people aren't happy unless ED is packed with shops charging 5 times the going rate for everyday things, it fits in with some kind of aspirational delusion of theirs.

Im sure the posh pr*cks who have moved into from the more posh post codes of london would not think twice of jumping in there 4x4 petrol vehicles and shopping up at john lewis as richer sounds is not a good enough name.

It really gets on my nerves when people write into the dulwich forum stating which shops should and should not be in dulwich there is now another betting shop opposite somerfield which is much more damaging to LL

Pot.. kettle.. black

I don't think it's likely they will open up round here, I think they require areas that have high shopping footfall which includes people coming into the area to shop and office worker etc popping in in their lunchbreaks and on the way home, just don't think we have that in ED.

    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
