No David..much more contemporary M8....

The awkward wait in the Crem car park before the hearse arrives. Collars nipping necks that haven't sported a tie since retirement. Bewildered blankness on the faces of the grandchildren. Two middle-aged sons clinging to each other for support while their excluded wives search, red-faced, in their handbags for items unknown. The best friend rendering Abide With Me clear as a reed, half a beat ahead of the congregation. The deep, urgent hunger that strikes everyone at the wake. Mr Purdey slipping the publican a ton, because the relatives haven't noticed the tab's run out. Uncle George singing Me and my Shadow but being unable to finish. The middle-aged brothers' wives taking the children home, leaving their spouses bound together in speechless reverie.

I have asked for a cardboard coffin in my "funeral wishes" doc and stressed that it should be as cheap as possible. I don't want a lot of money spent on my funeral service and I've put that in writing already. Seriously, I'm thinking ahead here because I want my funeral done my way. This site was helpful:

my rotting cadaver strapped into a lada packed full of explosives and sent at full speed through the gates of Buck house. with a live Thatcher nailed to the rotting bonnet.and Garry Bushell in the passenger seat.

Yes but Snorky, do you want floral tributes or would you prefer donations to a charity of your choice? It's best to clarify these things before you pop your clogs.

Darling Snorky,

I am with giggirl, do you want a sheaf of lillies or the word "SNORKY" spelled out in plastic blue carnations? Could you be a bit more specific with regard to floral tributes?

If you would rather that we made cash donations to an erectile disfunction charity, it really is best to leave more instruction...(smirk)!

Well short of any instruction from Snorky we could swap the blue carnations for blue pills concerning his tribute.

    • The council are really backward in their approach to management of grounds etc.  They will cut grass and mow through wild flowers / it seems continue to use pesticides according to some observations posted here.   Whilst having green policies food recycling etc blocking roads installing Bill n Ben flower pots in roads causing all sorts of heavy traffic in certain roads.  And installing new LED lights etc when we have adequate functioning lights already.   The impact on wildlife and quality of life for all is devastating.
