Teenie drinks in Leeds in the mid-90s:

Taboo and lemonade. Sickly sweet, used to interchange with martini rosso and lemonade.

Snakebite and black. Stomach-stripping.

"Blastaway" (castaway and lager I think) - this was served at a place with a revolving dancefloor on a "drink as much as you want for a fiver" night - mayhem!

Two-dogs / Hooch lemonade.

Pernod and black (when could afford it).

Brought-back-from-holiday-by-parents-Ouzo and sprite (very bad night when said parents had hidden all the booze in the house but this was found in the cellar)

"Cripple Cock" cider. Did what it said on the packet according to a friend who pulled a seemingly gorgeous hunk.

You must be around the same age as me. The only thing missing off that list is Concorde.

    • I don't think you'd be a busybody, gently telling them that you'd noticed that they put their rubbish in bags and the collection team can refuse to empty the bin for this reason. If you have a good enough relationship where you can ask to put your rubbish in their bin, surely you can mention that you had noticed?
    • You don't want to hopefully politely explain not to use a black bag in the recycling for fear of seeming a busybody yet are quite happy to snoop inside their bin? 😂🤣😂
    • I wish the guide mentioned that recycling should be loose inside the blue bin. My next door neighbour bags it in a black bin bag and id feel like too much of a busybody to tell them that’s not right.    (I know as I put some extra recycling in their bin once, and have checked a few times since to see if it was a one off)
    • Great value and surprised neither went.  Maybe time of year when people aren't feeling very active. Or perhaps people are too posh round here nowadays to buy second hand, even when 'as new'.
