Louisa
lousiana, maybe if I were a upstanding pillar of the community like yourself I would be able to master the English language slightly better, but taking my post apart based on the spelling and/or meaning of my words is just snobbish and arrogant, as well you know. Oh well that is just another example of how I clearly wind you up as going a million miles off the topic is something you seem to be able to master far better than any other poster on here. Anyway, better luck next time in trying to wind me up, I think you had better get back to that dictionary before something called 'getting a life' comes and stares you in the face. :))Louisa. I have most recently been hiking (Wye Valley) rather than cycling.Louisa: I don't own a dictionary. Dictionaries are for people who entertain doubts concerning spelling. Sunlover00
Geez lousiana, think that's fairly harsh to break down someone's post and analyse to an inch of it's life. Does anyone really care? I mean, it's obviously got right up your nose but Louisa was having a rant so misuse of words probably wasn't at the forefront of her mind. Geez as I type this I'm feeling rather paranoid that I screw up but I've always been a bit rebellious so ............skjhakdissufdsjfjccn ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6756-arrogant-cyclist-in-village-this-morning-for-you/page/2/#findComment-216875 Share on other sites
Sunlover00
But Louisa, if you feel it's your right to honk your horn and express your feelings then you can't argue that the cyclist can't express his anger back. I'm sure if he had a big **** off horn, he would honk back instead of banging yor window but if you put it out there, generally you will get it back. giggirl
It's contemptible to berate someone because their English usage isn?t up to scratch. Very cruel. Can?t you find something more worthy to make a point about? Asset
I definitely don't agree with that comment. Dictionaries are great. Expanding vocabulary and playing a home-made version of Call My Bluff are two things they are good for. Also useful for finding the origin of words. Useful to most people with a passing interest in language.Anyway, as you were. Jeremy
Agreed - what is the point? To make Louisa feel bad? To make yourself look superior? If you don't agree with what someone says, isn't it better to address the content of the message rather than the syntax?
