Jamma
Brilliant, the bakery by the roundabout next to the EDT is to reopen as a cookware shop. Because I just can't get enough cookware in Dulwich between AJ Farmer where you can actually get what you need and Roullier White where you can't.[Edited by the Administrator upon request] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7-lordship-lane-shop-gossip-lounged/page/6/#findComment-5005 Share on other sites

capt_birdseye
Clearly not a waste of shop space as there are plenty of empty shops on LL. Louisa
Hardly a loss is it? Since Mr Yilmaz departed from here the place has not been upto scratch in my opinion. Getting rid of the take away as it was could possibly have been the biggest mistake ever made, although Kebab & Wine have certainly picked up on the passing trade now. Louisa. Peckhamgatecrasher
My idea for that space Louisa, is to turn it into a restaurant with guest chefs from ED each night. Then you are guaranteed to fill it with friends and family. Catalyst
So according to those figures they had ?60K a year left after rent and rates to pay wages, stock, utilities, insurance etc.No wonder it's on the market. Ted Max
Did they?Rates @ ?1300 a month = 15.6k pa.Rent 45k pa. So rent and rates pa is 60.6k per annum.Combined Restaurant and Takeaway takings = 9.5k per week. Which = 494k per annum.Which means after rent and rates it has 433.4k per year for wages, stock, utilities, insurance etc. No? Shu.Kurimu.Sensei
Teppanyaki isn't Japanese food at all, its an interpretation of certain Korean meat dishes, and the Koreans do it far better. There hasn't been a decent Japanese restaurant in London since '98 anyhow.Just had an amazing home cooked Japanese meal actually, its wonderful being married to a Japanese goddess whose culinary skills have yet to be rivalled by any professional chef/master. Japanese, Korean, Italian, Arabic, Italian, English, she is incredibly skilled in these cuisines and more, I hate going out to eat as it is never, ever a spot on what she can cook!
