  1. Well I for one will. Oh no ... wait a minute ... Voted very strongly for the Iraq war. Voted strongly against investigating the Iraq war. Voted strongly for Labour's anti-terrorism laws. Voted very strongly for replacing Trident. Voted moderately against a transparent Parliament. Voted moderately for introducing ID cards. Voted very strongly for introducing student top-up fees. Sorry ... back on topic ...
  2. "Most places in ED have been frequented more than once!" Yes, but not by the itinerant court that is the forum drinks. We did attempt a list so far before but here goes... The Mag The EDT The CPT The Drum The Clock House The Gowlett Hoopers The Plough The Canning Possibly in wrong order, have I missed any? A few to go before we've done them all, and some, like Inside 72 may have missed their moment as it's grown since the early days.
  3. I've never been. so well up for a bit of FHT action.
  4. the 'launch fullscreen' suggest I won't get away with it at work. I'll check it out later.
  5. Winning goal he kicked Hurrah Safas licked
  6. Headline was probably: GUN CRIME LINKED TO PHARMACIST
  7. Nor can Otto!!
  8. You are a martyr to the cause Keef! But yes it does sound like they're local and I'm sure they'll be nicked forthwith. It's amazing how 3 bad eggs can have such an impact on an area, but as I said, they don't strike me as the sharpest tools, and a dose of reality down the cells/courts should snap them out of it. Most kids go through a bad phase; with me and my pals at 14 it was a spate shoplifting and a bit of arson, and it took one of us getting caught for us all to knock it on the head immediately. Of that bunch we have become headmaster, bankers, lawyers, computer programmers (yawn), journos, husbands and fathers and general ok members of society.
  9. Completely agree, it's great that I don't HAVE to go to Borough for a decent pint now :)
  10. You too? Did you get it through real letter type mail? I was actually quite disturbed by that, it's one thing a pointless hotmail account being sullied, but my actual name by my actual address was a lot more unsettling. But once again, why would anyone be persuaded that they've won the lottery on receiving a letter written by someone with a poor grasp of the lingo, on poorly photocopied cheap paper? Someone must do, it's big business.
  11. "Personally I don't like to have to 'grit my teeth' when I am paying good money to drink/eat somewhere." Totally with you, and why I don't go there if I can avoid it. But it's not for me to tell others not to*, I was just suggesting that AlleyCat shouldn't be put off by me and go and make up her own mind. * yeah yeah, the Vale doesn't count.
  12. Give it a go, I actually used to go a fair bit as it was Huguenot's local. Grit your teeth at the service (or go to the bar) and avoid the food, and enjoy the jazz!
  13. I just love the dreadful english employed by a man who purports to be the head of a multinational taking a very curious interest in little old me. I particularly love the fact that I have to contact him on [email protected]_lfcd.kz
  14. Seeing as there are about a billion gooners on this forum, any chance of petitioning the emirates authorities to get Arsenal down for a pre-season friendly next summer? I'm sure the are enough boutiques to keep the player's wags happy too, and the footballers might even be able to afford a sandwich in Le Chandelier
  15. Oops, sorry there. I think we discuss this every time we meet, but it's always a bit late in the evening for facts to settle into my beer addled brain. I won't make that mistake again ;)
  16. I get very little, in fact I used to get none on the address I've mentioned, until the BITE episode. One of the early spams even had a reference to beer in the evening on the spam they sent. My first thought was collusion, but now I suspect it was just stupidity on their part.
  17. I think I've had all three lately, but not to my EDF registered adress, but to the BITE one. Seeing as mark was able to pick up their distribution list off the internet it doesn't bode well.
  18. I was at the Market Porter last night as the Taste Spain thing was really a bit of a tourist board free-for-all type affair, greed bringing out the worst in people (mostly the americans I'm said to say Roadster) and we couldn't get within 20 metres of the giant Paella. So popped into the porter, Muttley's Dark for me, jolly nice and my brother had Meantime's lager, which I tried (I love their IPA) and was very impressed by. On a by the by we went to Feng Sushi afterwards and was disappointed by how much their standards have dropped. *edited for tarring an onion with a septic brush*
  19. Xbox Live is great, barring that see if you can find a website that does the game in flash or somesuch first of all. If you want to go the whole emulator route then it's usually worth checking on google groups for trustworthiness before installing anything. I once installed something from opensource.org which you'd have thought would be trustwrothy and ended up with a nasty little bit of malware that took some eradicating. Learned my lesson though. Here are a load, but like I say, do your research first. http://www.gamerevolution.com/oldsite/download/emulator/emulator.htm
  20. didn't know whether to put this in the comedy corner or The Green thread. Gastro Pub Waiters "i'm recommending the consom?, which as everybody schoolboy knows, provided your school wasn't free, is to be consumed only using a vichyssoise fork...my my it's like watching the generation game, I expect that's a reference you get." Genius!!
  21. I was on job seekers between sixth form and uni, about 2 months. And yep, spent all of it down the pub. Thence to uni with full grant and similar results for 3 years (well, booze and rent). Thank you Her Madge's Government, very kind.
  22. Do I detect a hint of scepticism there MacGabhann? No, you're right; I'm still soundly beaten by little gits with american accents whose voices have yet to break :(
  23. Yeah, Halo 3 made $170 million on its first day. Not bad!! It has helped me stay in, but I've been trying to cut down on school night drinking anyhoo.
  24. Best place for admiring gym slips to cool music - Inside 72 Best place to enjoy ok food with fabulous wine - Green & Blue Best honest boozer with terrible toilets - CPT Best place to get jostled by lairy idiots - The Bishop Best poorly refurbed pub with lovely flowers - Clock House Best ... err ... meh - Gowlett Best place to watch the hurling and have 10 strangers reach into their pockets at the same time without being asked, because you were stupidly a quid short for your pint of guinness - The Castle
