  1. Ah Sean, have you met my good friend Herbert George?
  2. dovey wovey?
  3. I saw War Horse at the NT the other night. Splendid horses wielded by extremely fit (in the original sense) actors. Very moving in parts with a fine comic touch by the RSM. It dragged in a few places, particularly the opening, and I never worked out why the French girl was really in it, but on the whole a fabulous piece of theatre and very apposite for this time of year.
  4. In McNab's autobiography, "Immediate Action", he says: I also started to have a shower every night down at Goose Green swimming baths. It cost 5p for the shower and a towel, 2p for soap and 2p for a little sachet of shampoo ... I was kissably clean ...
  5. I'm confused. 50% of The Who are dead. Who's playing?
  6. KM, I read that post as not, not reinstating a fence, just not the current one. It is ill-designed for its purpose - large dogs can easily clear it and small dogs can run through the sides. Also, not everyone closes the gate behind them so a self-closing hinge would be better. Just my interpretation.
  7. Michael, I see you more as a Peter Purves type. What can you make out of an egg box and sticky-backed plastic?
  8. While I think the driver was a bit of a jobsworth, it's really not that big a deal to walk home from over the river. I've done it many a time in various states of sobriety.
  9. Can't help thinking this will all go tits up, HB.
  10. I say, Roy Wood is looking a bit haggard these days.
  11. Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield
  12. Locale have jazz at weekends.
  13. Another diversionary tactic would be to bake a light cake for tea.
  14. That's Not My Name - Dizee Rascal
  15. I find if you ask Utch on any emotion troubling you, it is the key to peace and equanimity.
  16. My dear Moos, I fear you have become unhinged.
