I don't think you're wrong, Rose79. What sort of advice is being given here? Grab hold of a strange dog? Teach your children this is OK? Somehow now you're in the wrong. I suppose if you'd been bitten it would be all your fault.

A farmer was quoted in the paper saying they don't grow Jerseys in the same way as they used to. He reckoned the flavour was created by the seaweed that was traditionally used as fertilizer. And don't get me started on the fruit in supermarkets. Rock hard for 99% of it's life, a very brief window of ripeness then suddenly mush.

If it was just a quirt, well,I agree with everyone so far. It's their garden, after all. If you go round and complain, I've a nasty feeling things will deteriorate even further.
