It goes to Shoreditch - but London Bridge is much more convenient for most of the city. > athens or whereever Seriously?!
  2. I don't know for sure that they won't, no. It just seems rather unlikely. The only local-ish place I can think of is The Alexandra in Clapham.
  3. I doubt it. The only local pub which previously showed boxing was the CPT, but that's now sadly gone.

Ditto Sampras/Agassi. Or even Becker and Edberg. Would his chances have been any better when these guys were top of the rankings?

Federer... fantastic player no doubt, but outfits like this really, really annoy me.
  6. An improved performance from Fury. His conditioning is also improving (although he is still obviously carrying a few excess kgs). Was surprised by his accuracy, and decent workrate. Would like to see him put some more body momentum into his power punches though - a guy that size should be able to at least knock down Maddalone. We really need to see him up against tougher opposition - someone like Povetkin, Dimitrenko, Chagaev, or Adamek.

Out of those I'd say that Crystal Palace is the nicest, and has the biggest "town centre" with pubs, restaurants, etc. If I was looking for a slightly cheaper area, that would be my choice. Catford really isn't great IMO. If you want to stay close to ED then Honor Oak and Nunhead are nearby. Nunhead seems to be more "up-and-coming", but I think Honor Oak is more pleasant. The Denmark Hill part of Camberwell is really nice too, but probably only very slightly cheaper than ED.

  9. No idea who Tracy Barlow, Joanna Page, or Joanna Page's "Hubby" are. TV actors, maybe?
  10. This one? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-23467842.html Surely some kind of joke.

    PDF Splitter

And a lot of the time, these free trial versions "watermark" the output. Hmph.
  12. DulwichFox - a decent list I'm sure, but how many could supply the kind of quantities needed?
  13. Me and another forumite recording some new tracks with our band this weekend.

  17. There have been several complaints about speeding vehicles, so "common sense" would suggest taking action now, instead waiting for something terrible to happen first.
  18. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/shard-laser-show-lights-crowds-ire-032321752.html Debbie Lemon, 30, who tried to watch the show in Honor Oak Park, south-east London, said: "That was bitterly disappointing". Perhaps it was a bit ambitious trying to view a laser show from several miles away?
  19. Maybe Ruskin park / ferndene road? Or Franks? Someone told me that the bussey building cafe will have the roof open tonight with DJs and stuff.

    The Shard

Heading more towards tower bridge and bermondsey it can get a bit grim, but the closer vicinity of London bridge has always seemed perfectly fine to me.

    The Shard

Ken Livingstone has been saying that it's brought jobs to "one of the most run down and deprived areas of London". Really??
  22. SJ, I reckon you're 100% correct. If you listen to your feedback and adapt, and engage with the local community, it will pay dividends. The two establishments - which have requested that all posts mentioning them are deleted - are probably going to suffer because of it.

    The Shard

50M sure is a lot of cash. Although there are only ten of them, split over 13 floors, so they're going to be pretty damn big (maybe 8 times the size of an average terrace house).

    New cafe

I'm divided... it's making use of an otherwise unused space, and bringing people into Peckham. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food looks good. But I'm not such a huge fan of the setting - I know it's trendy and everything, but not really my cup of tea.
  25. Here's a tenner, now fuck off home.
