  1. I guess the plate has changed hands in the last year then. What a horrible car.
  2. Google says Range Rover.
  3. It is suffering from subsidence. Underpinning is the usual remedy for subsidence, and would reduce future cracking. Perhaps Col.J.Stev could shed some more light on it.
  4. Sometimes there could be a good reason - e.g. making space for a skip or a delivery lorry.
  5. Hucknall. Complete, utter, tosser.
  6. fazer - presumably it will be underpinned.
  7. Nobody is suggesting a curfew. A curfew is a mandatory/imposed order to return home at a given time. I'm suggesting women try not to put themselves in a situation where they have to walk home alone at night. And if the situation is unavoidable, then take sensible precautions.

  9. If you don't manage to find anyone, you can get the train and change at Tulse Hill. Or just walk it, of course.

We need a closing italics tag. Red devil - you need to fix your post. Your closing italics tag has a slash after the i.

Regarding compliance - there's a lot of it, but much of it is ill conceived, and poorly enforced by people who don't always understand the industry (both in terms of internal compliance staff and external regulators). Banks don't need more compliance, they need better/smarter compliance.

In an organisation the size of Barclays, it makes no sense for the CEO to take the rap for something like this. The blame lies in compliance, and of course the individuals who knowingly submitted the wrong rates. It's purely political. In what other industry would the CEO be forced to resign under similar circumstances? Not pharmaceuticals, it would seem.
  13. second shittest thread ever.

Yeah I knew some people would disagree. I just feel that there's no point putting yourself in danger unless there's really no alternative. It's hard to reclaim the streets when it's 2am, and there's nobody else around except for you and a violent criminal. I know this thread is going off topic, and I hope it isn't seen as disrespectful to the victim. I think it's important that people are aware that these things can happen, and use appropriate vigilance.
  15. Now you've done it...

  17. Although I've taken some stick for it on here, I'm generally of the opinion that it's never wise for women to walk alone at night. You should always try to get someone to meet you at the station or bus stop, or get a minicab from a reputable company. If you absolutely have to walk alone, carry a personal alarm in your pocket, and keep your hand on it at all times. Wear flat shoes that you can run in.

Otta, we've been there before. And yes, he does. I also seem to recall that UDT is an expert on computers and the financial crisis.

Who fancies doing an analysis of the 2014 world cup?
  20. I guess the guy deserves a second chance, but I'd be surprised if he really can turn over a new leaf. We'll see. Hope I'm proved wrong.

Otta, that's exactly what I'd expect you to say, given your limited knowledge of the game.
  22. Knew you wouldn't be able to resist!
  23. Weak lager is no good. Even if you drink loads of the stuff, you don't get pissed, just sick.
  24. ...yeah, but it was kinda scruffy back in the mid-late nineties, wasn't it?
