It's just pure speculation dg2. London prices have been shooting up for the last 15 years or so, with little or no letup. Where's the evidence to suggest that recent growth is due to investors from the euro zone?
Yes, Melbourne Grove is unrelated to DMC (Chadwick and Crystal Palace Road). Vixster, don't bother changing to DMC on Crystal Palace Road, the average waiting time for an appointment seems to be around 4 weeks. There are some same days appointments if you queue before it opens (8am), but clearly this is not convenient (or even possible) for many of us. Alec - it doesn't seem entirely implausible that the previous glowing recommendations for the surgery on these very pages (and the complete ineptitude of Melbourne Grove) has led to an influx of patients beyond their capacity.

Yep, it is definitely cheaper than comparable SW London areas - Wandsworth, Balham, Putney, Clapham, Wimbledon, etc. Even places like Earlsfield and Wandsworth Town are probably more expensive, and ED is much, much nicer IMO.
Don't know if The Charlatans could be classed as deeply unfashionable. "Also-rans of baggy" also seems a bit harsh. While they didn't reach the fame of The Stone Roses/Happy Mondays/Primal Scream, they were always more credible than stuff like The Farm/Inspiral Carpets/etc. But yeah, Tim Burgess... not the most talkative/articulate of fellows. He comes across as quite introverted, quite surprised he agreed to give a talk on anything!
Was reading on BBC News that Sweden feel they were the better team and "deserved" a win. Now, I don't watch much football, but to the layman, it looked like England scored three pretty decent goals, while the two that Sweden scored were from free kicks, given away due to dirty tackles. As bad as England were for long periods of the game, I'm not sure how you could say Sweden "deserved" victory.

During the second one, I got basically blanked by someone because I'd (quite strongly) disagreed with them about wind farms a couple of days earlier. Thought that was a bit wierd, and kind of put me off going to others.
Otta - I think you're fairly similar online to real life, but a little more "verbose" on here than you are face-to-face. I'm more abrupt on here than I am in r/l. On here I'm sometimes quite quick to wade in with "you're talking rubbish", but if I were talking with them face-to-face it would be a rather more polite "not sure I necessarily agree" type of thing. But the same applies to a lot of people with online discussions... it's the nature of the beast.

Cool. I quite fancy getting something like this, and fitting it with modern electronics: http://www.bethanydesign.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Radiogram.jpg
Surely you can pick up a very cheap one on ebay. Even if the cartridge is knackered, it's probably worth a punt, and a replacement wouldn't be that expensive. Add ?25 for a basic phono preamp. I get the impression that Goodliz isn't looking for anything too fancy.
I like Grand Designs. Who cares if he (or the producers) try to make it a bit more dramatic by playing up the matrimonial friction, or exaggerating a few pitfalls. Lighten up. How anyone can watch the show and deduce that the guy is some kind of misogynist is beyond me.

I don't own an Octavia, but I had a VRS estate hire car earlier this year. Very solid build, great to drive - as you say, quite a lot of oomph. Really impressed!
