  1. I agree that it's selfish when people park in these spaces out of laziness. However, I rarely see parents with young kids in there in the evenings, so perhaps they should only operate the policy during the daytime.
  2. A similar thing happened to me years ago, at the bus stop opposite the station. Unfortunately the only solution is not to flash your phone around. If you have to make a call, keep it brief then put your phone away.
  3. It is a little unfair to lump all local shops together, some of them provide better value than others. At the end of the day you can just vote with your feet, if a shop's too expensive, don't go there!
  4. I don't rate Samuel Peter at all - another fat, lumbering HW. Still... at least he's a name.
  5. Use cornflour. It works better than wheat flour anyway.
  6. ratty - yes please, let me know how it goes. I'm particularly interested to hear what rubbish comes pre-installed. matthew123 - thanks for the tip.
  7. Thanks, I will check out the Dell XPS range with an open mind.
  8. MM - I knew somebody would suggest a Mac. I actually have a macbook which I use for music, but I want to keep the installation clean... so I need something else for everyday use. I'm not considering another one, the price is pretty outrageous, and I do specifically want to run Windows software. MP - cheers, but I'm not keen on Dell. Maybe because I've only previously bought from the budget range, but I found the build quality was dubious. And just as importantly, it was pre-installed with various trial versions and a load of other shite that I didn't want. At all.
  9. MrBen - sounds very clever, but I'd be very surprised if the police actually followed it up. I don't think they're interested in recovering stolen goods these days.
  10. Can anyone suggest a good place (on-line or otherwise) to buy a desktop PC? Somewhere that charges a reasonable price, uses decent quality components, is flexible on the spec, and doesn't clutter up the machine with junk you don't need. Oh... and I'm not interested in building my own!
  11. Big IPhone. Without the phone. Costs more than a decent laptop. I don't really get it either. Hugo, are you actually an "advertising man", or do you just work for an advertising company?
  12. His career's over. Hopefully we'll never hear from this odious man again.
  13. I thought GPs got paid OK. At least enough to afford a dress which covers her breasts.
  14. I actually think if Bruno was around today, he'd be a contender... not quite up there with the K's, but he'd give Haye a damn good fight.
  15. Mockney is very naughty for not closing his font tag.
  16. I don't think anyone's trying to shout you down, cab. Just because somebody doesn't agree with you, it doesn't mean they don't think your opinions are valid.
  17. I'm with Rosie. You're either in the system, or not. And if you're in the system... you're just there to make money, you're all as bad as each other.

I like the building, I think it will look really good. The Pinnacle (AKA Helter-Skelter) on Bishopsgate is going to look even better.
  19. Tyson Fury is a plonker with a fat gut. He needs to get down the gym a bit more. Love that clip of him punching himself in the face. Brilliant.
  20. I knew a guy in his twenties who died in his sleep a few years ago. His mates contacted Facebook admin, and one of them was granted the permission to edit his page and turn it into a memorial. People still post on the wall with wish-you-were-here type messages. It's definitely worth doing.
  21. Chisora is a crude slugger with no movement - but I still think he would flatten Gammer with ease! He'd probably be out of his depth against Brewster though.
  22. We're not broke. But we have ended up in a lot of debt, partly because of banks lending and investing irresponsibly. And we're too reliant on the finance industry to leave it to sort out its own mess. It does seem that the tory government have taken full advantage of the situation, to fit their ideology of small government and low public spending. Regarding bonuses... I kind of understand the public outrage at the banks who were rescued by the govt, but as for the others who managed to sort out their own affairs... unless you're a shareholder, it ain't any of your business.
  23. KK, have you actually seen this Helenius guy in action? The only names on his record which I recognised were an over-the-hill Lamon Brewster, and the rather limited Scott Gammer. Mind you, I suppose for someone who only turned pro a couple of years ago, that's not too shabby. I think that the Klitchkos do actually want to fight Haye, it makes sense financially. I believe Haye's PPV deal with Sky is a lot more lucrative than the K's own TV deals. But he's a live opponent, so they need to make sure the money justifies the risk.

Narnia - you realise it's not finished yet, right?
