  2. I'd like a thread - possibly even a "room" - dedicated to posts moaning about the lack of quality/content in other posts.
  3. About time! All these guys earning 150K a year and paying 15% tax was really quite annoying...
  4. Exactly... will put the brakes on BTL. Lots of landlords will sell.
  5. Slashing of BTL tax relief... sounds good in theory for buyers who feel squeezed out by investors. But at the same time, quite a few tenants might see themselves booted out so the landlords can sell - or even find their rents shooting up when the landlord realises that their tax bill is actually higher than their profit.

  8. Correct. Too easy. I'm done.
  9. OK. Believed to be cursed, after several of her boyfriends died through highly inprobable means.

  11. Ryan Gosling in Drive?

On a tangent - I don't think there has *ever* been a time when our daughter would have reliably slept while we ate a meal. Certainly at 8 months, getting her to sleep was a mission which could take anything up to an hour - and then there was always a good chance she'd wake up in an hour's time and you'd have to do it all over again. Going out to dinner with her in a buggy was totally unrealistic.

I always thought that it was one of the few pubs in the area that seemed to have a sort of authenticity.. an historic building pleasingly untouched by bland makeovers or cheap novelties. Yes the service was slow and the food was just plain bad, but it had a certain "pubiness" about it which I very much liked.
  14. I'm (more or less) with AM on this one, I don't think restaurants in the evening are a place for babies or toddlers. Not meant to sound judgemental towards MrB, each to their own I guess, but not for me.
  15. I took the baby to the pub in the carrier thing once or twice when she was very small, but not in the evening.. just didn't seem the right thing to do.

    Greece...

I think at the moment it's about Greece making tiny concessions step by step until they get a deal. But I think the French are more open to helping them out with Varoufakis gone, so they're probably almost there. Was reading a report by a respected economist today, he thinks the whole mess is largely Germany's fault... buying all the bad Greek debt from the German financials, and then making unrealistic demands from Greece. Attempting to force austerity on the Greek people for the sake of protecting German businesses.

If a kid is young enough to need a buggy, they should be in bed - or at very least in the preparation stages - by then! IMO daytime in restaurants (and certain pubs) is fair game, but evenings are for grown-ups. maxxi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Don't match. On a recent(ish) trip to Seoul, it became apparent that matching couples is actually a "thing" in Korea. Often for "trendy" young couples, but sometimes even whole families. It is absolutely sickening.

  19. Otts - sub ?4 ale might be doable. But lager, no way.

  22. They can really stink. I wouldn't much fancy sticking my head inside one armed with a scrubbing brush - and certainly not in the summer. Much better to get it done with a pressure washer.
  23. I'd actually heard of him before... remember him playing in Wimbledon a couple of years ago. Walking onto the court with his dreads and headphones he looked every inch the coolest man in tennis. But alas, Alan is right - the match says more about Rafa's decline.
