  1. Hi J-Kopite It depends what's important to you.. bars and restaurants, schools, quietness, parks etc and of course your budget plays a part. Give us a bit more info and I'm sure we'll help.
  2. I'm glad it's working so well and it's great that it's encouraged a different audience to benefit from the website. Thanks must go to Polly D, who originally requested the Family Room, and of course the Family Room Moderator who helps keep it running so smoothly.
  3. At 7:30 tonight (that's about 10 minutes from now) Beardyman's performing online http://www.funnyordie.co.uk/promos/live I'll be listening to that.
  4. I know it's a bit out the way so maybe we'll try and make it a bit more prominent, and get the Peckham Rye SNT details on there too.
  5. PeckhamRose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Seems there wasn't enough interest and/or the admin wasn't keen. > I'd have thought it really important! It is important which is why it's been there since the forum started and even has "Top 10 tips for a safer neighbourhood and safer homes" as suppied by the local police.
  6. Sorry to hear what happened but you must report it. You might not think it's worth it but I told the police of my phone being snatched once (in Clapham) and the description I gave was enough for them to put 2 and 2 together and arrest and convict the guy. Please report it.
  7. Have a word with the council and/or your councillor directly.
  8. I'm not exactly sure which other forums are involved but I believe the ones in Herne Hill and Harringay are. I'll see if I can find out. Thanks for filling it in by the way.
  9. What signs do you need for that gap of about 3 foot wide? "No cars"? I'm not a lover of signs for the obvious or am I missing something?
  10. Have you written to the council or brought it up with your councillor (directly)?
  11. Hi The East Dulwich Forum has been recognised as "one of the liveliest local websites in the UK" and we've been asked to get your opinions on how it affects the neighbouhood. The survey takes about 5 minutes and it's mainly lots of easy tick box answers. Highlights include: - How often do you post? - Have you ever met someone in your neighbourhood because of the forum? - Are you likely to recognise someone in the neighbourhood because of the forum? - Has your sense of belonging to your neighbourhood changed as a result of your participation on the East Dulwich Forum And the old classic... - Are you male or female? Question 34 asks "Is there anything else you would like to add?" I would love to know any interesting stories that have occurred because of the East Dulwich Forum such as clubs or groups that you've started or joined, friendships or marriages, amusing anecdotes or anything that the EDF has made possible. If you have any questions about the survey, please don't contact me, have a look here http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/capitalambition/projects/digitalneighbourhoods.htm It finishes on 23rd March and your help is appreciated Thank you Mark Here's the link to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y2QMZJR
  12. Details about the Goose Green consultation and the playground can be found here http://www.friendsofgoosegreen.org.uk/. Sign up to their news letter and you'll not miss any major Goose Green news.
  13. I find "oh bless" offensive when used by someone on hearing that something bad has happened to me e.g. "Argggh, I've just had my foot cut off in a lawn mower accident" "oh bless".
  14. Jesus and the Massive Chain are playing down the Queen Vic?

It's true to say that HAL9000 annoyed Mockney so much that he has stepped down as a moderator. HAL9000 may not be aware of the effect that his "issues with moderators" comments have and I was just trying to ask that he doesn't do it to anyone else. HAL, here's one previous occasion where you've annoyed Mockney http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,363602,364899#msg-364899. I want to make you aware of how you come across to me, for example I expressed my opinion earlier and you then come back with "I suggest your judgement may be clouded by..." and "you are seeing what you want to see rather than...", it just sounds so patronising and unnecessary. However next time we meet I would like to buy you a drink and resolve any differences. Now can someone please put a happy tune on the decks and pour everyone a drink on the house.

Welcome back to the big screen! Does this mean less typign errorrs ?
  18. How come you're still speaking then if he's taken away your Freedom of Speech? Or is Freedom to Type a cunning loophole you've discovered?

I've just been told that the persona "Huff 'n' Tuf" pre-dated "rosa_klebb" so I made a mistake in thinking you created a new one.

I would appreciate it if people did not start a "I miss BBW/Roll Deep/Huff 'N' Tumble etc" threads in future as it stirs things up. It happened before and it has happened again. Huff 'N' Tumble, I said "rosa_klebb, hang around but keep your nose clean". It was a simple and friendly request but you've come back straight away as a different persona so sorry, but with mockney gone now we do not have the resources to monitor you so you are banned for life. There will be no other warnings and if you do come back action will be taken against you. HAL9000, do you not realise that your online persona comes across as arrogant and confrontational towards mockney? I for one did not understand your use of metaphors, including your quip "some folks actually think I was being serious about the "inner circle" bit too", that came across to me as a schoolground bully pretending to use ignorance as an excuse for the insults he had hurt people with. If we lose another moderator, and they are free to go if they please, the forum will close. Please don't make another one leave.

rosa_klebb, hang around but keep your nose clean, don't post about shagging and w_anking because it annoys Admin. And he thinks rosa_klebb makes you sound like a girl which is funny, I can even hear him laughing about it from behind his Gatling gun on watch tower 6.

There's nothing sinister going on. HAL, I honestly couldn't see through your metaphors, I thought you were serious.
  23. The beard, you're making a big assumption there: "It's about a little girl who died because a driver possibly frustrated by the road works..." You have no knowledge of the circumstances that caused her death apart from the fact that there were roadworks nearby (or do you?). Another young girl was killed there last year so perhaps it maybe better to focus people's attention on that crossing and not temporary roadworks. It's just a thought but you might be chasing the wrong enemy.

What's a WUM? ps this forum's got 13,244 registered users and yesterday there were 2,897 unique visitors. Not that I get touchy when people say it's "small" or anything.
