We are on Virgin 20mbps. Usually get speeds not far off the 20. Will look into the 50mbps one :-)

What an *rse! Just been out in the car for the first time in days - someone has purposely scratched it down one side, and my partners car the next car along! Not sure if other car's in the road been done (the one's either side have changed frequently). I am perplexed as to how that can bring someone pleasure, can only assume they must have a pretty miserable life!

I dont know where to post this - is it safe to fly :S
ClareC replied to muffins78's topic in The Lounge
My friend crews for BA, she caught an ear infection somewhere exotic and wasn't permitted to fly home until it had cleared up. I flew with blocked sinuses once (hayfever) and it was agony! Agree with the poker comment, mine was around my eyes though :-( I wouldn't fly without dosing up on decongestant for a long time after that! -
Anyone know if this is on this week or if it's broken up for Christmas? Thx

Do you know if is it possible to collect parcels even when a you were out card isn't delivered?

I found some mail dropped on Henslowe Road yesterday, a letter on the pavement and one in a pathway to a house by the pavement - postie must have dropped it whilst delivering. I picked it up and delivered it myself to the correct house a fe doors up - looked to be an accident rather than dumped.

I am waiting on an Amazon delivery dispatched on the 10th, also a John Lewis one. We are getting post each day but not as much as usual.... My partner ordered something yesterday and it arrived today!! Not Royal Mail though!

"While you were out" -- Royal Mail false delivery attempts
ClareC replied to Alex K's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks indiepanda. Just tried the number and it goes through to the general Royal Mail customer service number. Does anyone have the direct line number for the Sorting Office on Sylvester Road? I did a search on here and lots of people refer to calling them but haven't spotted number :-( -

My friend's hubby told my boyfriend (when I was pregnant with our daughter) that the labour part is 'far worse' for the bloke....... the poor chap had suffered sleep and food deprivation! My poor friend meanwhile had had a really hard time in labour, long and with complications including being ambulanced to a larger hospital more able to deal with her situation. According to the hubby she was fine as she was "out of it" - the gas and air must be far stronger in Scotland ;-) To be fair my boyfriend was shocked his mate wasn't hung drawn and quartered on the spot!! -
My boyfriend's flat was burgled when I was a student, my finger prints were taken by police to be eliminated from the investigation. No idea if they were added to to National Database but to be honest it wouldn't bother me if they were - I've nothing to hide, have not and have no ambition to enter a life of crime and quite honestly have no issue with the national database containing everyone's DNA / prints etc including anyone entering the country. Controversial subject I know but if it make's the police's job easier and lowers crime can only be a good thing. Never did get the breach of human rights argument! That said, collecting this information from a victim of crime in the absence of such database seems rather harsh in those circumstances! If there is a genuine need it should have been handled far more sensitively and a plausibe explanation provided. Mr Ben, I hope you are OK, it's an awful thing to happen :-( Fingers crossed the scum are caught asap!

My GP is a nice chap but has made a number of poor judgements / errors with regard to my baby daughter - as a non Dr myself, i've only discovered this at a later date when mentioning things to GP friends / Peaditrician's. Can anyone recommend a GP / GP surgery in the area that is good for kids? I am interested in all recommendations but am particularly interested in the views of those of you out there that are medically qualified so can tell that a GP is good medically as well as bed side manner. Thanks Clare

Hiya, my 11 mth old has this too, we ended up at A&E and the Dr there said once the vomiting and diorreah ends, then she can mix with other children. She has been ill since Tuesday, although brighter today.... Did the Dr recommend rehydration salts? We were given those to administer orally by syringe 5ml at a time. Good luck x

Resuming exercise after a ceasarian
ClareC replied to HollieES's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The Internet has conflicting advice on this, definitely listen to your body, if it hurts, stop! I went skiing at 11 weeks post op, had no problems at all although did take it easy and stuck to on piste. -
What do you do with your eldest whilst in labour????
ClareC replied to Ruth_Baldock's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I thought I had it sorted - C Section so date known and grandparents booked! Failsafe?!?!?!? Hmmm by the sounds of these stories maybe I need a rethink! Thinking back to last time, 2 days out of hospital having had a c section I was making lunch and tea etc for my mum who was visiting.... the next day the inlaws came to stay (we had said no house guests). Now I am panicking too ;-) -
Peckhamboy already explained why you were wrong.... the issue isn't whether Sainsbury's can enforce but if they actually would bother.

Great response :-) I did actually see a chap patrolling the parent spaces on a recent visit. I actually got one of the spaces and saw him looking to see if I had a child, as I was faffing about with the car seat a small hatchback car with 4 able bodied adults pulled up behind in another parent space. As they were getting out the attendant went over to them and pointed out they couldn't park there - there was much huffing and puffing but they did move. When I returned to the car, another car pulled up with adults in, the same happened. Hilariously the woman passenger, upon being told it was a parent and child space and to move, got all irrate and exclaimed "I ave got kids they jist int with me!" hmmm Anyway, it's great to see that the management at Sainsbury's have listened and are doing something positive :-)
