  1. In my back garden!?!?! Very random and suspect the foxes are to blame! I've washed it and it's come up as good as new, there is a name in it, looks like Said Kamaba- it's written on the label in biro and not that clear. Anyway, if anyone knows the owner please let me know otherwise I will drop into the school next time I pass! If schools lost property collections are anything like when I was at school it will be unlikely to be reunited with it's rightful owner, hence posting here first :-)
  2. I'm liking that policy!!

  4. Where is the sense in that? Surely it will simply mean a return to the days when private landlords say no to social housing? It always used to be considered higher risk letting but coupled with less than Market rate rent plus not being paid the rent direct from the LA, why would any private landlord bother? I know nothing about this btw just can't see any sense in it!
  5. Hi all, have you met up yet? I am pregnant with number 2, due early May. DD1 is 9 mths old. Would love to join you all when you meet up. Clare x
  6. I knew what you meant as well, it's clear that any possible misinterpretation has been removed, not entirely sure why certain people feel it necessary to continue having a go! Certainly does make tiresome reading!! Good on you trying to alert people to potential mistreatment of animals!
  7. 2 door is a pain, they get really heavy and it's awkward! Plus, places like Sainsburys carpark become pretty much an impossibility (unless by some freak occurrence you manage to get a parent space), since the spaces are not particularly wide and you do need the door open a reasonable amount with a two door car ( that's awkward with a four door car too, you just need the door open a bit less wide). If your actually buying a car def get 4 doors!! It's only worth making do with 2 if your trying to avoid changing cars. There are lots of 4 door versions of small cars :-)

I agree, its where I end up more often than not! There are never any trolleys with baby seats over that side though which is a pain :-(. Given the issues there I rarely go anymore, shop online with Ocado instead, can't fault their service and quality of food :-) Wonder how many other customers Sainsbury's have lost due to this? One family alone is a big dent in their profits!!

Ive only been once and all the children looked quite small. Great if they are :-) Do you know what the opening / closing time's are? I am guessing 1 oclock, but know the crystal palace one is open at 10am so thought it worth checking :-)
  10. But how many people here are actually from here? Very few at a guess.... I have a few neighbours that have lived here for years but most of the street are from all over the place!
  11. I have my two nephews staying with me Sunday to Tuesday next week, they are 3 and 5. Are there any good clubs , places etc for this age group locally on these days I could take them to? My daughter is 9 mths so her activities wouldn't be appropriate, other than the Horniman, I'm struggling to think where would be good for all 3 children and not too much of a struggle for me keeping all 3 in order ;-) thank you x
  12. I actually got a parent space last time I visited, when I went back to my car (with 9mth daughter) the chap behind, parked in a parent and child space was getting in his car. He was able bodied, in his 40's and clearly had no children with him. I did say something to him but I doubt very much that would make any difference next time!! It is actually very difficult getting a baby out of a car seat and into a trolley safely when you have to use usual width spaces. The spaces really do need to be policed and there needs to be more of them! I appreciate it may be irritating in the evening post 7pm when there are few being used, maybe making them subject to time limits may work ie anyone can use post 7pm.

Did she say when the ward manager changed?
  14. I had my daughter at St Thomas's, started off in the home from home (where if you deliver there you, your baby and partner get to stay together in your room for up to 24 hours post birth). Unfortunately for me I didn't give birth in the home from home bit, ended up with an ECS. That said, the care during the birth was fantastic! The postnatal ward was definitely the worse part and did let them down, although, it was nowhere near as bad as I expected and the food was good! There is private rooms available but they are expensive, @?700 per night I believe!
  15. Honor Oak / Forest Hill East London line really fast! Def quickest way.
  16. Do the Lanes midwives only attend births at Kings? I had an emergency C Section at Tommy's and I couldn'y have asked for better treatment etc. Was walking around within 12 hours and discharged less than 48 hours after the Op - only one night in post natal ward.
  17. We use pampers, didn't get on with Huggies or Sainsburys own. I know my sister always found Huggies best - it really is a case of different babies suit different nappies.
  18. My cleaner does more hours rather than less and then does her best to not accept any extra money for the extra time! I've had cleaners in the past that left half hour early ( which did annoy me) but 2 hours!?!?! That is completely taking the piss! Unless of course she does bring a helper. Even then it would be courteous to check with you first. You should speak to her and ask for an explanation.
  19. I got the Angel Care sensor pad and monitor. I've never really understood the theory that sensor pads make you paranoid. Opposite effect for me, I've been really happy with it and it stopped me being paranoid. Reassuring to be able to see the pendulum swinging at a glance, especially the first time they sleep through the night ;-)
  20. 44k for a family in London to live on is far from having an affluent lifestyle! Based upon that income, rent plus childcare doesn't leave much left over.
  21. Seems rather hypocritical for a Gov that allegedly believes in family values! To go back to work, most people end up using the majority of their income for childcare, this out of pocket and very necessary expense is not even tax deductible! To remove CB doesn't exactly help what is already a financially expensive period! I would happily lose my daughters CB if my childcare costs were made tax deductable! The fact it's not even being rolled out fairly is shocking!
  22. Lead area is the central part around the lake and cafe area.
  23. I second the sunlight tip, I found this accidentally during the summer months when I was using the washing line more.

You wrote the above following a number of people raising valid concern's about nappies.
