  1. last time I PMd you was 14th Aug 2014. Have you PMd anyone this year yourself? (Oh and what RD said).

  3. patronising the proles shocker. Whatever they had to say to non-voters has been entirely lost because they?ve dressed it all up in pwetty pink and so that?s all we are talking about. Own goal. I don?t find the pink bus ?offensive?, no. Instead, it's patronising and insulting to both women and men. And before anyone says ?its not aimed at you?, well, neither was the ?go home? bus. Should we just stfu about that too and focus on issues 'aimed at us'? That whole talking around the kitchen table shite leaves me speechless. Any good intentions behind this are completely obliterated by the mockery it has attracted. What the fuck were they thinking? Any right-leaning party would have deservedly been given hell for this. Any minute now someone will blame ma Thatcher.. Remind me, what are Labour doing to appeal to men who didn?t vote in the last election? Shower of condescending wankers

And yes, if there is indeed an > afterlife I hope his soul finds some redemption. No it's not over though, is it? Certainly not for the victims of child abuse who have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives. Really cannot believe some of the comments on this thread and I also wish that people would stop calling it 'child porn'. It is child abuse. Anyone downloading such material is complicit in that abuse. For those of you saying that others on this thread have made assumptions about this man and should show some compassion seem to be making assumptions yourselves - do not assume that everyone who has been abused as a child, goes on to commit abuse as an adult. There are a myriad of reasons why victims do not come forward and speak up about it later in life and this is one of them along with the shame, confusion, anger, sadness and everything else that they quite rightly feel. Show compassion if you must for the victims of this crime as they are the ones who have had their lives altered with far-reaching consequences. The damage done is untold and it can take years for them to come to terms with it. I have no sympathy for anyone who chooses to abuse children and that is exactly what you choose when you knowingly download shit like this.

PS katanita - i don't think I am suited to planning everything and entering all the figues, my brain goes to mush by the middle of the week and I give up too easily. i think you are spot on in that some people will click with it more (and I fervently wish I was one of them) :)

I started using it after you suggested it katanita and although I think it has been an eye-epener (e.g. one day I thought I had eaten hardly anything and been really good, it told me I was almost at my full allowance of calories - eeks). I like how it tells you whether you have met your protein, fat allowances etc. The only thing I dislike about it is having to fill it in every day (lazy of me I know but I find that it a chore). I get all enthusiastic at first and then I can't be arsed later on as the drudgery of the week takes hold. Maybe I just need to be more strict with myself about it to help achieve my goals. My favourite app is Weighbot by tapbots (same people who developed tweetbot). I like the simplicity of it. Very motivating to see those graphs on a downward trajectory. PS well done mick you are doing really well only one complaint really, your posts aren't as funny anymore. the price we pay eh? ;)
  9. The SW is my favourite part of France, fly to Beziers from Luton hire a car, preferably not a Citroen with a mind of its own, drive up into the hills. The village of La-Salvetat is lovely and the surrounding mountain scenery is breath-taking especially in late Summer with the scent of wild herbs and figs everywhere. There is so much to do all around that area, sampling the wine in the vineyards of the Minervois, bit of local history taking in Cathar country and the Carcassonne, the Haut Languedoc and the Montagne Noire, between Montpellier and Toulouse. Worth a visit to Roquefort and the cheese caverns, great walks to be had through the stunning Gorges d?H?ric passing through Olargues and plenty other beautiful places to stop for lunch. Definitely not too gridlocked or expensive. Plus the wine, the food...sigh.
  10. East Dulwich doesn't need a bloody Wa....because you can get hold of every ingredient known to the human race on Lordship Lane. FACT.
  11. I think Peugot must be better than Citroen! French cars are very comfortable I'll give them that. Interesting re fuel consumption if the Ford.
  12. Not what I meant Lady D. Of course people can have time off to do those things, it was the fact that things can't be done without them being there (or the implication of that by them having "limited" access to emails. No-one is that important that decisions cannot be taken by others in their absence. Presuming that something needs to happen whilst they are off. Holidays? 5 minutes for lunch would be nice. Having too little staff is just as bad as having too many.

So it is okay for someone else to scare-monger (in the thread title no less) but not me?

I'm of the opinion that if you can afford to employ someone to say they have 'limited access to emails blah etc' whilst sailing round St. Kinda or hiking in the Alps then you're employing too many staff. The work still needs to be done and no-one is indispensable. Edited for grammar :p
  15. blimey I'm really shocked at Salsaboy recommending a french car! That aside, much as I adore France I'd never ever buy a Citroen. I'd love to recommend Skoda but the Roomster is so ugly. What about the Ford S-Max if you find VW too expensive to run?
  16. I've been to Wales with Hibbs. Always thought her driving was ok. ;-)
  17. your dog/bone intransigence never ceases to amaze esp if you don't like what someone is saying.
  18. Loz if I'm honest, even the PROSPECT of a half decent cafe with good coffee and cute little pastries within walking distance would be sheer decadence from where I am sitting right now. As the wise Mr Ben says, simple pleasures and all that.

Maybe I should have mentioned that the size of the drill is irrelevant as the well is horizontally pumped (amazing technology) with fluids. NASTY DANGEROUS EARTHQUAKE INDUCING FLUIDS. etc.
  20. "It was a bit of dig in truth - I find the Sue's sometimes combination of dog/bone intransigence coupled with "who me?" stance grating - especially when playing the wounded party. She had asked el pibe to repost his words so I didn't think I was forcing an issue" no wonder the 'dog/bone intransigence' when people add unnecessary digs upthread (downthread?) which perpetuate matters even more. I think your question was quite unkind to Sue really when you asked how often looked at other forums on THAT subject. anyway I realise I have come to the thread late.

  22. never understood people complaining about cliques, they are still posting though so it can't be that bad... When I first joined the forum, I read a little bit at first and liked the banter so that drew me in. That was when Honaloochie and Ted were prolific posters so lots of hilarity and intelligent conversation. There were some natural forum 'double acts' that made me laugh out loud. It was obvious that people had met IRL through forum drinks/hobbies or knew each other from before it was set up but to me that was what made it quite intriguing. When I plucked up courage to meet people in the area, I found that esp at the forum drinks people tended to talk about other stuff rather than the forum all night (thankfully). Would never have put the same faces to posting names in some cases! I think there will always be people in life who find it easier to join in/mingle/take part/whatever you want to call it and the same goes for their online activity as that in the 'real' world, sometimes the opposite. If that makes sense. I was a bit apprehensive at dipping my toe in the water for the first time. Esp as I got pounced on by one of the moderators for my comment (heheh). Some people are more prone to flouncing than others.

What quids and maxxi said. Don't agree with the forced wearing of the poppy on the BBC. To me the poppy was to commemorate the deaths from the first and second world wars, it is a mark of respect to those who died not glorification of war. I appreciate that it means different things to others.
  24. Love to see the responses when the lights go out. Anyway, I sadly have yet to meet anyone against this who has shown a good understanding of it. Fracking is not a new thing, may come as a surprise to some of the NIMBYS I realise. Was laughable watching the protests at Balcombe where some well-heeled "protesters" drove specially in their 4x4s. Where were the protests in the Weald and the Midlands I wonder, its always the bloody southerners who complain when its in their back yard. Even the ridiculous scare-mongering title of this thread is laughable.
