What is driving me crazy, is the Nay Sayers that are now getting air time For example this is a twitter link relating to Oldham stating that out of 1252 hospital beds in Oldham only 9 have covid patients in and that the public health authorities are out of control. (The number of cases in the community is a more useful comparison rather than cases needing hospital care) Yesterday nationally it was reported over 1,182 New cases up from 812 on Thursday. Statistics show that there is a rising no of cases yet there is a growing movement to say health authorities are out of control issuing local restrictions. Only a few months ago the press was leading a charge, supported by many, to say that the government wasn't quick enough to react when cases were going up and that the lock down was imposed too late. Now people are saying why are you locking down where I live because only 9 people are in hospital with Covid. What the actual fluck goes on in people's minds ? If hospitalisation and or deaths increase in places like Oldham it will be the governments fault, not the fact that people are ignoring the rules or objecting to lock down. Yet if the authorities step in people complain. All along with this pandemic, people aren't taking responsibility for their own actions and the effects it has on others and look for scapegoats. "It's DC's fault he broke the rules so I can" or "cases are low here so why should I follow what the authorities are advising." Logically If everyone had followed the rules and minimised going out during lock down, then the virus would have diminished in a matter of weeks (if it can't be transmitted due to a lack of contact it won't complete it's cycle of infection, transmission and infecting others) so obviously people are responsible for its transmission, not the authorities. Why are humans so complacent until something directly effects them then they look for a scapegoat rather than taking responsibility for their own actions?

And how much will that cost their economy ? I dread to think how much financially the eurozone / Germans will be expected to fund it after.

Depends Do you have to press a button to unlock ? If so it's safer than the proximity keys that unlock as you approach the vehicle However either way once in the car they can access the system and program it to accept a new key to start it Things have progressed from using a crooklock to deter theft -

That is a good question They can't charge you for a call they've made It's possibly something similar to the calls in the USA a few years ago https://www.cbsnews.com/news/whats-behind-all-those-chinese-speaking-robocalls/ Aimed at Chinese people telling them their immigration status was in question Ho li fuk as they say 😱

All very odd... An 01337 number ? As I had the same yesterday not sure what it was about as I hung up after the oriental recording started (couldn't say it was Chinese or not)

Now it gets worse Not only does the Mayor and council want us out of our cars, but now the Mayor wants us out of the buses. https://www.mylondon.news/news/local-news/london-bus-coronavirus-travel-rules-18788777 The idea is on certain routes to stop commuters on every other bus from boarding to make more room for school children. So those that can't walk or cycle now can't drive due to restrictions and soon won't be able to easily get a bus. This has to be some sort of joke! All this whilst they are encouraging us to go back to working in the office to help save businesses in places like Oxford Street. Talk about a disjointed transport strategy, no wonder there are questions about the mayoralty being in crisis https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-53806962

thebestnameshavegone Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 11 posts, all about road closures. > How much do they pay you lot? > I'd ask for a pay rise Just shows the strength of people's feelings about the whole lack of consultation process by the council and even when they do consult the results are manipulated in favour of the councils goals (the CPZ results for example)

Whilst you may have had it and unlikely to catch it full blown again, there isn't any evidence either way concerning if you could be a carrier and potentially able to spread it if you've been in contact with someone who's got it currently So much we still don't know about the virus.

A typical political answer of not directly answering the question So in true Paxman style "Do you work directly or indirectly for Southwark or any other council?"

If people are putting their names down as "Mickey Mouse" then they are idiots , whilst they may not want to be identified what if "daffy duck" who was also drinking in the pub tests positive for Covid just after, Mickey couldn't be traced so goes on to infect his family and as a result his granny who was shielded catches covid and dies slowly and painfully alone and afraid. Whilst it's a made up scenario, that's the potential result of the crass stupidity employed by so many so called educated people.

Still The benefits of the scheme across the borough are clear https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/stumbling-blocks-confusion-reigns-over-walworth-road-redesign-amid-claims-flowerbeds-are-blocking-police-pursuits/ especially for criminals 😱

I understand the reason of expanding to bring in more income but the question remains where are they getting the upfront capital needed to implement it and pay a new 5 Year expanded contract to capita That's the bit that I'm not seeing as TfL are basically broke at the moment.
-
It could be a conspiracy to stop school kids and teachers turning to drink 😱 Think I will start that as a rumour on theyareoutthere.UFO.UK 😆

I still fail to understand how TfL / the mayor can afford to expand the ULEZ at a time when he's going to the government cap in hand to ask for money to stop TfL from failing due to poor financial management and lack of customers. It does strike me that maybe (pure speculation) the mayors predicted cut in police and fire budgets is being done to fund the ULEZ. I have no evidence or seen any documents on this but it does seem strange that TfL are able to mysteriously find funding to expand the scheme, rehire capita at a higher contract value (capita incidentally are hiring a further 500 people to implement the scheme which shows how much they are adding to their bill) and obviously have funds to install all the new cameras needed to monitor roads yet still be running a deficit that needs government funding. As Elvis sang "suspicious minds"

But it's a road junction Technically it was designed for vehicle traffic so actually using it for cars is logical and valid
