  1. I'm curious to see where season 2 of Bel Air takes us Season 1 was strong and raised some important issues although the final episode felt a little rushed to get everything in.
  2. Lost - obviously lost it in the end Heroes - did anyone save the cheerleader ? East Enders - is Den still fighting Ange ?
  3. Did you use the land registry authorised yard stick that uses ye oldie imperial meters? Completely different unit of measure and you need to have the correct tool in hand otherwise you make a mess.
  4. Site under maintenance ๐Ÿคฏ

    C'est sans surprise
  6. Whilst it's not ED ltn specific, the Beech Street (Barbican) trial of zero emission vehicles access only has just concluded. Great study on reducing pollution by 58% however the trial cost ?1.8 million in total. I'm lost for words on how schemes like this, on a very short stretch of road, can cost so much (are the road signs Gold Plated?) and makes me wonder how much schemes like LTNs actually cost and could they be implemented in a more cost effective manner?

That's almost a line for an Alanis Morissette song
  8. Just read that Uber has been granted a new two and a half years licence to operate in London. Thinking about how to safely share streets, it has been muted that ride hailing apps like Uber have contributed to reduced bus usage and more journeys being made by car. Wouldn't it have been an ideal opportunity to add a clause into the high level Uber licence limiting the number of individual private hire licences associated with them and also substantially reducing the overall number of private hire licences across London as a whole? Whilst it's a bigger issue than Dulwich or Southwark, it could be something that our councillors should be championing.
  9. Unfortunately the contract to deliver is between you and the courier company and Victoria Plumbing is seen to be the innocent party in this situation Your potential recourse is to put a claim into the courier company for a damaged and incomplete delivery but you may have to prove that you packed securely the items and get proof that they weren't received as you sent them. The thing that may be in your favour is if the delivery driver took a photo of the package at point of delivery showing it was opened or damaged. It's potentially a tough one to prove unless you have strong proof (photos) of how the package looked when you sent it and what was in it. Good luck
  10. Lol If I had a pennyblack for every time I've heard that joke recently I would be a multi millionaire
  11. Something similar appeared on here briefly, not sure if they are a party endorsed group but the idea of an unbiased summary of all parties / candidates standing in May would be very useful Sadly the flyer does appear to be heavily one sided but I do agree that the single party state that is Southwark needs a shake up Just found the old post /forum/read.php?5,2254104,2265645#msg-2265645

  13. Are there any street parties being planned for the June Bank Holiday I know we've got the gala on, but is there anything either as individual streets or a combined larger celebration planned ?
  14. Sorry to hear that Lynne, hope you are recovering now. As the adverts say dial 999 if you suspect you are having a heart attack or stroke as they are time critical.
  15. Is it the bomber that was reported in the Sunday Sport in 1988 ?
  16. Some interesting points raised so far, and I think to encourage more people to add creative thinking, at this stage we shouldn't raise questions over what's been suggested or its practicality, even if they seem a bit of a stretch at the moment. The more ideas on the table, the better chance of debating and agreeing to create a realistic concept for how the street space can be shared safely by all. This is exactly the sort of exercise Southwark should have undertaken rather than imposing something that seems to have drawn so much negative feeling. Who knows, if there are good alternatives presented the councillors may actually listen to the community ๐Ÿค”
  17. It all depends on how urgent you are, not on how you arrive The triage nurse will assign you a space in the queue depending on your symptoms. However if you are unlucky enough to call an ambulance and they deem you a blue light case, urgent, then you will go to the top of the queue, but if they deem you non urgent then it's down to the triage nurse when you get there. Long answer to say that it possibly didn't make any real difference how you arrived, it's how serious your symptoms or condition is that will make a difference.
  18. Good starting points, thank you
  19. And back to bickering rather than debating creative solutions Strewth ๐Ÿ™„
  20. Devil's advocate time Do we need exclusive safe routes for active travel Or Better use of shared space for everyone ? Are cars the devil's some people portray them to be or is it how they are driven ? Maybe alternatives to closing off streets to all for the benefits of a few need to be weighed up to see if there is a better way of safely sharing ? As others have said, an LTN is a blunt tool and with creative thinking and planning there could be alternatives In Germany 25 years ago around some schools, they removed the kerb to blend the pavement and the road, making it hard for drivers to "own" the road, as a result drivers were more cautious and slower through these areas. Possibly not a wider area solution but it was creative. How about instead of everyone arguing over if LTNs are right or wrong, the community on here puts their creative head together to suggest ways the space can be shared sensibly and safely. After all, as the street space review said "people need to use other forms of transport to be able to travel, such as private cars". So let's look how to implement a scheme or schemes that benefits all not just a few and mitigates the I'm right, you're wrong type arguments.
  21. I think that what goes on in your loft Bob, is over most people's heads.
  22. I guess, like most people Bob, that I just "skimmed" over that last bit ๐Ÿคจ

  24. You couldn't make it up Today there is a high pollution warning for London however even if we had a London wide ULEZ it wouldn't help as the Mayor said "we are importing pollution from the continent" LOL is he trying to impose his car free empire across Europe ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜„ Regardless be careful out there if you have breathing related issues.
