  1. Johnny Cash Machine.
  2. The seething sectarian hate and bile that goes on at an Auld Firm derby.

Funny you should say that as that is the theme for a novel I'm trying to write. Two couples buy a house together at the end of the last boom thinking if they pool their resources together things will be fine. They can make a quick buck after a few years and move on but it all goes tits up.
  4. Beach towels out before the game.
  5. No thanks. Bugger! Bloody Man Utd.... ;-)
  6. That was bloody awful. Still, looking on the bright side, the race for 7th is still on. ;-)

Pretty sure it was after.
  9. To the sound of Slade's Come On Feel The Noise. Spurs fans make their feelings known about David Moyes. Thought this was rather funny.
  10. Saw 'em at the Newlands Tavern (now The Ivy House) in '74 where they blew the roof off. Amazing gig.
  11. I would. I'd like to watch him being flayed alive with a cat o'nine tails and a red hot poker shoved up his arse.
  12. Cor! It's a corker this thread.
  13. *Pulls up a chair*
  14. I'm disappointed in you *Bob*. Thought I'd set you up nicely there. Oh well.
  15. I can honestly say I've never enjoyed any of the Star Wars films that I've seen. Same goes for Star Trek. Not my bag at all.
  16. All true. I was much younger than the rest of the journalists that played football then so I could run rings around most of them and scored frequently. I was quite a talented player as a young man even if I say so myself. NB: I'm looking forward to (dreading) *Bob's* reply to this one. ;-)
  17. I never said it was stunning.
  18. Ho ho ho ho. No. He preferred girls. So do I.
  19. HOW I BROKE MAX CLIFFORD'S KNEE Back in the early 80s I regularly played football with a bunch of journalists, most of whom like myself worked at Mirror Group Newspapers. Once a week we'd meet up and play seven-a-side near Kings Cross then adjourn to a boozer nearby and sink a few beers together before staggering back to the office. Max Clifford was one of those players as was Sir Nicholas Lloyd. One afternoon during a game Max was marking me tightly and as a cross came in we both went for the same ball. I shrugged him off easily and beat him in the air to score with a far post header. As he fell to the ground, Max landed awkwardly and broke his knee. Just thought I put that out there. True story.

  21. Is he Graham Swift in disguise?
  22. Wait until the football season is over. It'll get ramped up x100 then.
