  1. There are a lot of similarities here to when Frank O'Farrell took over from Sir Matt Busby. An ageing team past its best and in desperate need of rebuilding, one "superstar"- player for Rooney see George Best and a manager though well respected not quite up to the job.
  2. Equally, Man Utd need rebuilding from top to bottom. Spurs have a better squad of players. The just need the right coach/manager to inspire them.
  3. If that is the case then I expect Louis Van Gaal will step into the hot seat after the World Cup. I've never thought that it was a done deal that he would go to Spurs as Ruud Gullit said it was especially with so much uncertainty going on at Old Trafford.
  4. I didn't notice either. I had it as three-nil Chelsea.
  5. Bale!
  6. Whatever! They are both wonderful players. I feel privileged to have watched Bale's development over the last few years at Spurs. If we'd managed to keep hold of him this season I'm certain we'd be 12 points better off. He saved our arses so many time last season with winning goals and great performances. As first seasons go he's had a very good one at Real considering he was injured and missed quite a few games at the beginning of the season. Now he's well and truly settled in at Real Madrid he'll only get better as well. He's an absolute joy to watch.
  7. Nope, no problem.
  8. Oh, I'm with you on that one ZT. Deep deep unadulterated joy
  9. That's a great find Nashoi. Just goes to show that Led Zeppelin built their career on the back of the then recently splintered Jeff Beck Group. They didn't do too bad though did they.
  10. 3-1 down at half-time. The race for seventh is well and truly on. Come on you Baggies.
  11. Yeah, I'd rather Liverpool won it than anyone else this season.

Go and wash your mouth out with carbolic soap and water. As a Spurs fan your dislike of Chelsea should be a smidgeon less than the Goons.
  13. Fook me! Tottenham are playing on a Saturday. Hoorah!

  15. I've fancied Atletico for a while now and it was no surprise to me that they knocked Barca out. Simeone is doing an amazing job there.
  16. Really? I don't think so. Not unless he quits. Spurs beating Sunderland tonight only papering over the cracks.
  17. Thank god for that. He's been absolutely clueless. Hopefully we'll get Van Gaal in after the World Cup.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26916661 Chris Hughton sacked as manager of Norwich City. That's a real panic decision as far as I'm concerned. OK results haven't been that good lately and they have a truly daunting fixture list in their next five games. I can't see how that will make a difference. We'll see though.

Oh, that's reminded me of someone I used to know named her daughter Brie. Yes, that's right, after the cheese.
  20. My friends named their first born son Hero. He's a grown man now and it does rather suit him but at the time of his birth I was incredulous. I still think it's a silly name though.
  21. Thanks Alan. I knew I could count on you to come up with the answer. So exactly half of them in the quarter-finals. It's a travesty that teams are allowed to parachute into the Europa League after failing so dismally in the Champions League.
  22. How many of those teams came from failing in the Champions League and dropping down into the Europa League?
