  1. No. That was Last Orders.
  2. I blame the press, especially the tabloids.
  3. Hmmmm....Takes bait. Your lot failed to qualify again didn't they? Sounds like sour grapes from a true Scotsman to me.
  4. It's a very complicated op but let's hope he pulls through.
  5. I seriously doubt it MrBen. It's possible he played there but we can't be sure without any proof. I've always known the pub as the East Dulwich Tavern or EDT for short. I rather think the cabbie was pulling your plonker. Adonirum - I saw U2 at the Marquee Club when they first started out.

Too heavy and cumbersome for a drinking vessel. When my dad passed away and we had to clear out his house we found at least 20 of 'em. No one wanted them so in the bin they went. A straight glass every time my friend.
  7. Agree Titch. They need a commanding centre back as well. The Brazilian Dante is just not good enough.

  9. They played the Uplands when they where called The Spectres. You are of course correct about the first gig being at the village sports ground.
  10. LD, the skyline has changed because the old stadium was knocked down to make way for Sainsburys and rebuilt adjacent to where it is now.

    Pipe & slippers.
  14. The Castle's great for watching football but does however fall flat on the good beer front. However, they do serve the best Guinness around these parts.

I used to go with my dad as a kid in the 60s and probably went to my last match there before going again this season around 69/70 possibly '71. We'd walk from Dulwich Village where I grew up through Greendale and enter the old stadium there. I remember the other pitch and that they shared with Corinthian Casuals for a while and watched a couple of their games too. One match I do remember is losing four-nil at home to Sutton United but not sure if it was Corinthian Casuals or Dulwich Hamlet. A very long time ago so it's a bit of a blur. I am very happy I've renewed my allegiance with the club now though. I fancy a few away games next season as well.
  16. Oooh....I almost forget. The Fat White Family for being the best band on the planet right now.
  17. Rekindling my support of Dulwich Hamlet FC this season after more than 40 years has been very enjoyable and great fun. Can't wait for next season. My local butcher Kim Libretto on Wood Vale. A top bloke with the best cuts of meat and sound advice on how to cook it. Always a pleasure to visit his shop. The staff at the Great Exhibition. I miss the old CPT greatly but the staff at The Expo (as I call it) has made the transition easy. The sun's out - time for a few afternoon drinks in the fresh air. The Castle - proper old school boozer with the finest Guinness in Dulwich and the best place to watch sport locally. Easycome at the White Horse in Peckham on Wednesday nights. Top night out. The Gowlett - great pub with blooming lovely pizza and the fact they sell one of my favourite ales. Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Not getting washed or dressed until late Monday afternoon. Time for that drink now I think.
  18. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Dulwich Hamlet this season. It's been quite a ride. I'd stopped going in the early 70s but I'm very happy to be a regular again especially seeing as I will no longer realistically be able to afford my regular trips to White Hart Lane next season to watch my beloved Tottenham Hotspur. We should all who live around here get behind our local club. All at the club can count themselves proud for all their dedication and hard work this season. Despite the dip in form over the past couple of months, finishing 6th in our first season back in the Premier Division is no mean achievement and it was great to have had Harry Ottaway back in the last few games after six months out with a broken leg to remind us what a good centre forward he is. Let's hope we can keep hold of Erhan Oztumer next season but if he goes on to bigger and better things then good luck to the lad. He's a fantastic player. There was a great atmosphere on Saturday and the support that the team got from the fans especially behind the goal was brilliant and has been all season. We were so close to the play-offs and were very unlucky not to make them in the end. I wear my pink and blue scarf with pride. Can't wait for next season. Onwards and upwards. "Gavin Rose's pink & blue army."
  19. The Jeff Beck Group (with Ronnie Wood on bass and Rod Stewart on vocals) before they split up in '69 paved the way for Led Zeppelin in the States. Zeppelin's first album was a complete rip off of Beck's Truth LP and wasn't half as good.
  20. Indeed RD. Indeed.
  21. Mick Mac. Is there no beginning to your knowledge of football?
  22. Extremely overrated.
  23. That fecking irritating beyond belief advert on the BBC with those two irritating smug useless wankers James Corden and Gary Barlow for their up and coming programme when "When One Fat Smug Useless One Tricky Pony Tosser With A Neatly Trimmed Beard Met Another Fat Smug One Trick Pony Tosser With A Neatly Trimmed Beard." FFS! It even has Barlow raising his right arm in a fascist salute. Cunts! It makes me want to hunt them down and kill them and stomp on their grotesque smarmy smug licking each other's arsehole faces for all eternity. Cunts!
