  1. The Flaming Lips are rather popular on this thread and rightly so. Here's their collaboration with the Chemical Brothers. The Golden Path
  2. Yeah, what about him? Lord Haw Haw was a traitor. Hardly deserving of a blue plague is he Frisco.
  3. From Marvin's finest hour, What's Going On. You could say that about the whole album Atila. Awesome.
  4. I wouldn't be seen dead hobnobbing with a politician. I wouldn't trust any of them as far as I could thrown 'em. 25 years of mediocrity, is a that a good enough slogan for your tee-shirt?
  5. No apologies necessary. Tottenham are crap at the moment and Blackburn are playing really well with both of their strikers really firing on all cylinders. So even I don't hold out much hope on this one. Birmingham 1 Wigan 1 Chelsea 2 Man City 1 Man U 3 Boro 0 Portsmouth 2 West Ham 0 Reading 2 Newcastle 2 Sunderland 2 Fulham 0 Bolton 0 Villa 3 Derby 0 Everton 2 Liverpool 2 Arsenal 2 Spurs 1 Blackburn 2 (doom and gloom)
  6. Too many to mention, none of them particularly happy ones either. I can't recall them ever having a casualty department though. Usually you'd end up in Kings and then maybe depending on whether any beds were available you'd get transferred to Dulwich or Lewisham Hospitals.
  7. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I mean.. My home town was a shit place to live > when I was 18. So I left. I seem to have done this in reverse. I was brought up in Dulwich Village until I was 18. I've been more or less slumming it in East Dulwich ever since.:'(
  8. What! That makes you shed a tear? Or does it make you cower with fear? Poor Johnny.
  9. That's the spirit Brendan, good man. Trouble is I believe they have a rule that only allows you to have the maximum of two. There are about seven shots in it I think.
  10. Don't be such a wuss Brendan. Call yourself man. You haven't lived until you've had a Zombie in the Black Cherry. It should be part of the EDF initiation rights. Agree with you about the Absinthe Mockney, it spoils it completely as it's all you can taste until you're halfway through.
  11. Did you see the accompanying video that Johnny Cash did for Hurt? First time I saw it I was literally weeping with tears.
  12. Recent reads have been:- Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me - Richard Farina Groupie - Jenny Fabian and Johnny Byrne (for research purposes). A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian - Monica Lewycka (hilarious) The Book Of Dave - Will Self. I've got two on the go at the moment:- Au Bonheur des Dames - Emile Zola and the new Ronnie Wood autobiography.
  13. he had to swallow a bitter pill
  14. Welcome aboard the good ship EDF TheOutsider. I think we could definitely do with another men's shop in East Dulwich but I'm not sure that the sort of garments you have in mind would sell much around here. Also, the rents have shot up so much over the last few years that you would struggle to make a profit.
  15. Me me me me! Also, the Black Cherry does a decent Mai Tai. Slurp slurp...Lurverly! Quite fancy one now actually.
  16. Yes Keef, Liverpool rode their luck on Saturday. The referee definitely had the blinkers on. Spurs could do with a bit of luck like that tonight. We're in for a busy week ahead. Away to Newcastle tonight then Getefe on Thursday in the UEFA Cup followed by Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. All of them tough games and potential banana skins for the beleaguered Martin Jol.
  17. At my end of Lordship Lane the one opposite the Harvester is run by a lovely family. Always very friendly.
  18. Congratulations Ratty on your first born. Life goes on.
  19. I had the choice of representing my school in football or rugby at my comprehensive and chose football, simply for the fact that I was much better at it and wanted to be a professional. You may have a point there Alan about the lesser sportsmen ending up in the rugby team. It was certainly the case at my school.
  20. Bollocks! Stuff and bloody nonsense. It's got absolutely nothing to do with class or money. I was never bored as a kid. As long as I had a football and a few mates to have a kickabout with I was happy as a sandboy. There are plenty of open green spaces in and around Dulwich for various sporting activities and clubs to join. OK, so not everyone is sports minded, so take up a musical instrument. If you can learn to play the guitar or keyboards or whatever you'll always have a friend. Only mindless morons resort to thuggery.
  21. "I came to the conclusion a long time ago that my dinner is in the oven and always will be." Jeffrey Bernard.
  22. Ratty my Dad passed away this time last year. I'm an orphan now...blub blub .Who is the In The Living Years By then? Just looked it up, Mike and his boring Mechanics. Ugh! Everyone to there own I suppose. Try listening to the Ronnie Lane song Debris on Nods As Good As A Wink To A Blind Horse album by The Faces if you want to hear a really good father/son type of song.
  23. I'll go along with that DG. I use Spice Republic quite a bit as it's my local Indian takeaway.
  24. Well done Michael. Look forward to the jolly-up at the FHT on the 9th then.
  25. A beautiful song and a real tearjerker. BLUE SIDE OF LONESOME (Leon Payne) Jim Reeves - 1962 I'm calling to tell you it's over Yes, darling you're now free to go You're saying you're sorry you hurt me But you've hurt me much more than you know You're asking' me where this call comes from Oh, I hope that you won't end up here If you're new romance turns out a failure Here's where to find me my dear I'm just on the blue side of lonesome Right next to the Heartbreak Hotel In a tavern that's known as Three Teardrops On a bar stool, not doing' so well The floor has a carpet of sorrow But no one can weep in the aisle And they say someone broke the bar mirror With only the ghost of a smile The hands on the clock never alter For things never change in this place There's no present, no past, no future We're the ones who have lost in love's race I'm just on the blue side of lonesome Right next to the Heartbreak Hotel In a tavern that's known as Three Teardrops On a bar stool, not doing' so well.
