  1. I ate a Ploughman's lunch once. He was absolutely furious.
  2. Been there done that.
  3. We haven't done the Forest Hill Tavern yet and think we should give it a go.
  4. Forum jolly-up in local bar of choice once a month. Usually first Friday of the month. Everybody's welcome and a good time is had by all.
  5. Swing Low Sweet Chariot was reissued on vinyl
  6. downsouth Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- I slept like a baby... Does that mean you woke up several times in the middle of the night screaming and crying and shat yourself? Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, all hail to the ale.
  7. You're quite right Ed-Pete, I stand corrected and I even had the blooming tee-shirt.
  8. Yup, The Drum's dog Bluey is a really lovely little cutie. His owner Cooper who works behind the bar is smashing bloke from Aussie.
  9. This one really gets me... Nick Cave/Barry Adamson - The Sweetest Embrace Our time is done my love We've laid it all to waste One thousand moonlit kisses can't sweeten this bitter taste My desire for you is endless and I'll love you 'till we fall I just don't love you no more and that's the sweetest embrace of all To think we can find happiness hidden in a kiss Ah, to think we can find happiness that's the great mistake there is There's nothing left to cling to babe There is nothing left to soil I just don't want you no more And that's the sweetest embrace of all Ooooh where did it begin When all we did was lose There's nothing left to win So lay your weapons down they serve no purpose in your hands And if you wanna hold me Then go ahead and hold me I won't upset your plans If it's revenge you want then take it babe Or you can walk right out the door I just don't want you no more And that's the sweetest embrace of all Ooooh where did it begin When all we did was lose There's nothing left to win It's over babe And it really is a shame We are losers you and me babe In a rigged and crooked game My desire for you is endless And I love you most of all I just don't want you no more And that's the sweetest embrace of all.
  10. My dad used to sing Danny Boy to me as a child.
  11. George Jones - She Thinks I Still Care. Just because I ask a friend about her Just because I spoke her name somewhere Just because I rang her number by mistake today She thinks I still care. Just because I hog the same old places Where the memory of her lingers everywhere Just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be She thinks I still care. But if she's happy thinking I still need her Then let that silly notion bring her cheer But how could she ever be so foolish Oh where did she get such an idea Just because I ask a friend about her Just because I spoke her name somewhere Just because I saw her, then went all to pieces She thinks I still care She thinks I still care.
  12. Aaahh..beer, lovely beer. Far too many favourites to mention. But a quick mention in despatches for Fullers ESB, Harveys Best, Timothy Taylors Landlord, London Pride canned Red Stripe and a lovely pint of extra cold draught Guinness.
  13. As you may have noticed Keef and I were hammered before we even arrived, well I know I was. Something to do with a good lunch date at the Plough followed by the footy in the CPT later in the afternoon methinks, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
  14. So there'll be no need to reproach him.
  15. Had a splendid lunch in the Plough yesterday, several pints of London Pride, Morroccan lamb chops on a bed of couscous and a very quaffable Australian Shiraz.
  16. If he nicks my pint I'll firkin thump him. Record shop/guitar shop.
  17. I usually eat in the Centenary Club at White Hart Lane before a match. Tastes even better when someone else is paying.
  18. Jim Reeves - Blue Side Of Lonesome.
  19. Asset, if you think you're feeling lousy I can tell you I feel a whole lot worse. I've had six nurofen plus and three black coffees and I still feel like I've gone 12 rounds with 'Iron' Mike Tyson in his prime. Was far too periwinkled to play backgammon but I might just make it next week.
  20. Nothing wrong with Pizza Express in the Village lozzyloz. I'm very fond of their cheesecake washed down with a large cognac......lurverly. Meat balls and spagetti for me tonight with nice a bottle Shiraz/Cabernet.
  21. You made the right decision Keef. I'm still suffering.
  22. Blushes....Oh you guys.:-$
  23. That's not a hairdo Anna, it's a hair don't.
  24. Hmmm...left Keef trailing in my wake as I headed for a very late night at the Drum and far too many large JDs.
  25. Thank you Sean, my sentiments entirely. I'm feeling like I DID go to every bar in East Dulwich last night, such is my hangover and empty pockets today. Lush by name and a lush by nature.
