  1. *Pops head in the door* *Oooh! Tea, yes please* *I'd be careful how you answer that last question Piers* *I say, have you got any Earl Grey old bean?*
  2. Hmmm...Turkey illegally invaded Cyprus in 1973. I haven't seem them pull out yet and they show no signs of doing so. Shouldn't part of the process of Turkey joining the European Union be to pull out of Cyprus to appease the Greeks.
  3. Grew up in Dulwich Village, moved to West Norwood at 18 for four years, started renting in East Dulwich in 1979, lived in Herne Hill and Tulse Hill for a bit before moving back to ED. Bought my own place in ED 17 years ago.
  4. What! eating our curds and wey! No, far too much mingling going on. It was a great fun, pity you missed out.
  5. Lovely looking house, not quite the right neighbourhood though is it. Perhaps we could arrange to have it moved brick by brick to Camberwell Grove.
  6. Is that the house opposite the Herne Tavern *Bob*?
  7. Annasfield Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hmmm - I see that we're not holding out a lot of > hope for Liverpool :( Apart from me Annasfield. Perhaps you'd like to redress the balance somewhat by predicting your scores and then persuade Keef to do the same.
  8. Maurice, that's rather snooty isn't it and quite frankly pathetic. I feel you are suffering from East Dulwich Envy. Camberwell Grove is a unique bit of Camberwell with some of the finest houses this side of the river. Be satisfied with what you've got. Unless of course you find it within youself to move to ED proper.
  9. Er..okay I'm guessing, is it New Wave Of British Heavy Metal?
  10. Sorry Chav, I guess you're too young to remember Budgie. It was pretty raw for the time. Soho and it's various lowlifes, the criminal fraternity, porn shops, you name it it was all there. Could write an update and call it something else with different characters. Always good to chance your arm with a decent, well written script. Good luck.
  11. Hate to disappoint but surely that's been done already back in the 70s:- Budgie, which starred Adam Faith as Budgie Bird. Anyone remember that?
  12. Thanks Android17. Now I'm in the know I might just be up for a little HDNNMB. Heads Down No Nonsense Mindless Boogie.
  13. it's a bit of a curse
  14. Me too. I'm deffo up for the Canning on the 12th.
  15. Nah! Bit of a trek to the nearest pub I reckon. And I'm not sure if I could get the papers delivered either.
  16. Oooh you missed out the Gooners there Annasfield, no bad thing though but here goes. Arsenal 3 Newcastle 0 Blackpool 2 Southend 1 Burnley 1 Portsmouth 3 Luton 0 Charlton 1 Man City 3 Norwich 0 Reading 1 Liverpool 3 Sheff Utd 5 Morecombe 0 West Brom 3 Cardiff 2 Edited because as the good Ladygooner pointed out. No draws in the FA Cup. Could go to penalties mind.
  17. Sean, I'm sure you wouldn't have bored the bejasus out of me by talking about music. I think you'll find I can be just as obsessive. It's only a few short years ago that I finally weaned myself off reading the NME every week. Still get Mojo though. Yes, those stairs were a bit scary and if us smokers had been up in that room it certainly would have been damned foggy up there even with the windows wide open.

(see > what I did there?) Do you mean the cut up technique that Bowie borrowed from Brion Gysin and William Burroughs? Gun shop, bang bang.
  19. Roughly I'd say about 60 maybe 70.
  20. Spike Milligan's There's A Lot Of It About or any of his Q series. Some of the sketches could be a bit hit and miss others were downright bonkers and hilarious in equal measure.
  21. I've always enjoyed it in there and have a friend who had a birthday do in there last year and we had a great time and were well looked after and the food was excellent but then I suppose a lot of us who were there are fairly regular customers. It's true there have been some mixed reviews on this forum about Le Chardon but don't take our word for it find out for yourself. Personally I'd recommend it but some others won't.
  22. I saw Pop Will Eat Itself at least three or four times back in the early 90s and have one of their albums too. Aren't I the lucky one.
  23. Hello, my name is Jah and I'm in denial and I don't mean that river in Egypt.
  24. I still don't know what IIRC is and then you do this to me (ROTFLMAO). What the hell is that all about?
  25. and a tad bemused
