It's appalling that Southwark haven't put this properly within the Consultation Hub of their website. My own view on the architecture of the school and hospital buildings is that they are not radical enough and are playing it very safe. The building has served its purpose. My two-penneth To a large extent I think that laptops are priced as a commodity i.e. you get what you pay for though there is some brand premium. I would try before you buy as some have a more solid feel than others. Buy as much RAM as you can afford (at least 8GB) Get the fastest processor you can afford (ideally Intel i5 or i7) As others have said get one with a hybrid drive or an SSD though bear in mind that in terms of capacity you will get less compared to a normal hard drive. If you buy a Mac (new or second hand) then bear in mind that you if you have software packages on your VAIO that you want to continue using (assuming that you have the original disks) then they probably won?t be compatible.

I use the FixMyStreet app on my phone. Quite useful as you can pinpoint the issue on a map, see if its already been reported and attach a photo. At the backend I think it just sends an email to Southwark.

I lost my wallet back in January (subsequently found and returned, amazingly) and reported my lost credit card American Express. My Oyster auto top up was linked to the lost card and I only realised recently that it was still working and payments had been taken even though I hadn?t updated my account with the new card details. Isn?t this slight odd ? (The payments were charged to the new card)

Pretty sure that ?1.50 is the takeaway price. I didn't want this to turn into a "let's knock brick house" as I said I've not tried the buns in question. I've only shopped there a few times and when I have I've been happy with the service and the product. I also think that what they've done with the space in general is great. I just think ?1.50 for a bun is a lot.

Louisa - if I'm passing Ayres I'll buy some and let you know what I think.

I haven't tried the Brick House HCB but I have eaten the ones from Blackbird and they were far better than any supermarket bun I've ever had. They're still expensive at 70p each or 6 for ?3 but that significantly less than BH.

Whilst normally happy to embrace the free market economy within East Dulwich, even I would baulk at ?1.50 for a single hot cross bun in Brick House Bakery.

I don't think a one-off is likely to cause a problem. The council would only get involved if it was happening on a regular basis and causing a nuisance. Just try to be considerate and keep the smoke to a minimum and avoid bits of burnt paper ash from flying all over the neighbourhood. If you have a barbeque with a lid that would probably work quite well.

@Foxy - why would you include the cost of heating the water when comparing costs - that has to happen regardless of having a meter. By my crude reckoning 365 baths @ 150l per bath = approx. 55 cubic metre of water = ?125 on a meter. Standing charges and other water usage on top of this but I would reckon you would still be quids in.
