Louisa
The official line as far as I'm aware, is that the dog will re-open on November 7th. Perhaps this is why people were gathering outside in preparation?Louisa. He'd have been told he'd had enough and should probably be moving on. Robert Poste's Child
Passing the C&G earlier I noticed that on the sign with the ETA on it someone has kindly added in bright purple '15/16/17?'Isn't the Nov 7 opening date the Half Moon? Not that that looks likely either. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49554-crown-and-greyhound-dog/page/7/#findComment-1067286 Share on other sites

Tractorlad
I had lunch at the Dog's "sister" pub, the Plough on Saturday. They told me that due to ongoing differences with the Dulwich Estate, reopening has been delayed until April 2017. New wager. Which will come first, the Dog opening to paying customers or Virgin media upgrading the broadband in SE22? DovertheRoad
I just really liked the idea of a 5 min walk for a quick pint (no kids) on Christmas Day which I understand was a tradition at the Dog. Three Christmases will now have passed before this happy dream becomes a reality. The Dulwich Estate have no care for public amenity and have demonstrated a lack of effective project management for this refurbishment. It should have taken 12-18 months max. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/49554-crown-and-greyhound-dog/page/7/#findComment-1069630 Share on other sites

????
I'm amazed the Village Residents are putting up with it a) not being open b) and boarded up for so long it's an eyesore.
