Virgin Media broadband not working
binary_star replied to Heart108's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Same problems as reported above. Intermittent service, sometimes no service at all. Thinking of switching to another provider. The box knows something is wrong because when we lose the internet it always has a blinking led. No internet this eve (using 3G) but telly ok. -
Scrolling through long posts. Anything longer than three or four paragraphs and I can't be bothered. Miss a lot of good stuff. Probably...?

It is incredibly fast working and my other half is always amazed/amused at the transformation!

1 sachet Resolve Extra + 1 Berocca. Mix both in a glass and drink. Repeat if necessary (never has been). Tastes disgusting but it works!!

If you have no financial connection to the original tenants(shared bank accounts etc) your credit rating needn't be affected. It's people not addresses that accumulate bad debt and credit agencies know this. Sometimes agencies think you're associated by your address. If this has happened you'll need to get a notice of disassociation. More here: http://www.talkaboutdebt.co.uk/question-answer/credit-rating/what-notice-disassociation Good luck!

Al&Em Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Iamyamyam- pound lying on the ground - not mine to > take: really? I'd pick it up.... Funnily enough, I did just that today. I was on the park earlier playing football and found 80p. Thinking it had probably belonged to one of the girls I was playing with I asked about and yes, someone had dropped it. So, it was reunited with owner. However, on the way home, I found ?1 on the floor. There was no-one immediately in front or around us to ask, so having little chance of finding the original owner, it went straight in my pocket. What else are you meant to do in such situations - post a thread on the EDF asking if anyone has lost money? Give it to the Police? Maybe for a larger amount, but coins - forget it.

Help to decide about the name for my Beauty room!

Not sure about the French thing. If there is no real French connection (products/owner) then I think it comes across as a bit pretentious tbh. Nike would have been a better example H. -
I say southwark - fortnightly bin collections

We are part if the pilot also. Our non food recycling needs to be collected weekly. General rubbish could probably go a month if it weren't for the smell/hygiene tbh. -
Accident Barry Road 2.45pm (May 21)

James, did you happen to read the tfl document I posted up: "Traffic calming measures for bus routes": "Speed cushions are the preferred vertical deflection measure used on bus routes, as they generally have less impact on buses than speed tables but slow vehicles to a desirable speed." So, if the document is still up-to-date (you may know different?) tfl seem to prefer cushions over tables, but presumably these are just as expensive??? The table in Appendix A on p.14 has a good list of measures and how "acceptable" tfl find them...surely there must be something from there that could be implemented along Barry Rd? -

Argh this is infuriating - surely it would be cheaper and more effective to put traffic calming measure on Barry Rd itself rather than at every flipping junction along it...? -

"Speed cushions are the preferred vertical measure on bus routes and are acceptable in small numbers when used as part of a combination of traffic calming measures." http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/businessandpartners/trafficcalmingmeasuresleaflet-rev-final.pdf ETA: That's a 798kb pdf -
Have these come from http://thisiswhyyourefat.tumblr.com/ ?

Haha, I read the above as: "Are you a male cyclist wearing a blue top hat"

Yes you're right, sorry. Think my point still stands about traffic calming measures being put on Barry Rd rather than the side streets. I also think there must be a discrepancy between the number of actual vs reported accidents as we've known of more than were reported at the underhill junction. -

Saw the aftermath of this, it looked nasty, hope no-one was seriously hurt. Couldn't see how the works carried out at this junction were meant to reduce collisions anyway. Seems the obvious answer as many people have suggested is to put traffic calming measures on BARRY RD. Can't understand why tfl are allowed to throw their weight around when this is clearly a rta hotspot. Only a matter of time before someone is killed IMO. -
Wonder if Harold Camping went to church this morning eh? Bet that would have been a bit of an awkward Sunday service haha!

Yep, have had a lot of particles in eyes too - and bloomin greenfly! I wear clear glasses which prevents the bugs, but not the polleny bits. I am worried that I'm damaging my lungs not wearing a mask in the city tbh, but it's just so horrible, I feel like I can't breathe with it on! Anyone know of a good non-restrictive-feeling one?
-
I am wheezing a lot these days as well and I have never suffered from asthma, and not ususally hay fever either. Maybe there is a particularly irritating pollen in the air, or just very high local pollen count? I can't bear face masks though, Applespider you summed up how they feel - hot and restrictive!

Thank you Whittler! Have missed this every summer since it started, not this year!

Glad to hear it Sue! There you go Willard, baby Jesus can stop crying now, I've got an even better grasp on local politics as it relates to the BNP history now. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I don't accept that golliwogs are manufactured for > racist reasons, purchased for racist reasons and > played with adored by children for racist reasons. Me neither. My nursery had one that I liked to play with as a child. Racist child? Don't think so. Child playing with racist caricature? Yes. I also used to go to the "paki" shop and the "chinky", but at some point, somebody - a friend, teacher, relative, I don't recall - enlightened me to the fact that these were offensive racial slurs, so I stopped using them. Some people would carry on, giving the excuse "it's just an abbreviation of Pakistani, much like Scot is of Scottish", or "it's just a harmless children's doll". Bit they must know really that's utter bullsh!t.
