    Strange tats

I was once "involved" with a lady who had a pixelated world map across her back, with the caption "world debt click and drag". I was also "involved" with another lady who had a butterfly across her chest. And I used to know a guy (who I wasn't "involved" with) who had a badly drawn anchor, with "The Sea" written beneath it.
  2. Oh my god. If that happened to me, I would never go into the room again.
  3. I write trading and risk software for an investment bank... what fun!
  4. That's exactly what one of my best mates did a couple of years back... ceremony at Dulwich College library followed by the reception upstairs at the Dog. Was a pretty good day, actually!
  5. Muttley - yes and yes!
  6. I wasn't trying to suggest that all curry places were like that... but it is the usual standard you'd find on a typical high street. Even on Brick Lane, it's usually a similar story. I've yet to find a reliable place along there.
  7. wow... sounds like they'll be doing a lot of work on that place! It will be nice to see that section of LL smartened up a bit.
  8. Good luck Keef!
  9. Curry Cabin serve the same bog-standard, grease drenched curries you'll find all over the country. The same goes for most of the places on LL. It's fine if you just want somthing to soak up the beer, but Tandoori Nights is the only one I'd go for something which actually tastes good (and doesn't repeat on you for 24 hrs).
  10. Someone recently said that the empty newsagents had major structural problems, meaning that it's not currently viable...
  11. Of course I don't really like the work of Collins or Dion. In fact, I can't even listen to Phil Collins without hearing Patrick Bateman saying: "Phil Collins works better within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist - and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite".
  12. more songs... Four Tops - Same Old Song Duran Duran - Planet Earth Bad Religion - Generator
  13. Phil Collins - against all odds Celine Dion - the one from Titanic Beautiful pieces, both of them.
  14. Stevie Wonder - shoo-be-do-be-doo-da-day Toots & Maytals - 54 46 The Jam - Strange Town Helmet - Just Another Victim

  16. I think that the tax should only apply for non-biodegradable bags. The same should apply for purchased refuse sacks.

Not true, many home owners would be quite happy for prices to remain static, rising prices across the board just make it harder to climb the next "rung" on the "ladder". I used to think that the market was self regulating, and that house prices would stop rising when investors couldn't break even on their rental income... but I think we passed this point in London some time last year.
  18. I thought most schools in this country played rugby? All the schools did where I grew up, and the area was certainly nothing special. We didn't do motor racing, though.
  19. Argentina, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa...
  20. When Hamilton raced in Brazil
  21. Yeah, I know that the Bellenden Rd area is not so bad - I was just trying to point out that I can sympathise with someone for being cautious about moving into Peckham... and that we shouldn't bite their heads off and call them snobs!
  22. PeckhamRose - it's a fact that Peckham is statistically much more dangerous than Dulwich, in terms of reported violent crime. And also there have been some very high profile incidents over the last few years which will affect people's perception of the area. Wanting you and your family to be safe has nothing to do with being snobbish, neither is it a state of mind. I don't see how it's constructive to shrug it off by saying that nowhere is perfect.
  23. Yes you are right of course, SeanMacGabhann... before the refurb it was a complete toilet. Was just responding to the previous poster's question as to whether it's part of a chain or not.
