  2. The Coriander sucks, and so does Surma! The worst kind of greasy curry which is still repeating on you 12 hrs later.
  3. "dormitory village"? That's one way of describing it...
  4. I'm not surprised to hear this, they already sold off a few of their properties earlier this year.
  5. Rockets - you're not on Goodrich Rd, are you??

B-list pop "singers" whose careers have evaporated, and now make a living by appearing on downmarket TV shows and opening shoddy shops. > Do White Stuff have customers? That's why I thought it was strange opening up in a purely residential area!
  7. grrr.. HORRIBLE!!
  8. It certainly isn't going to compete with regular gyms price-wise. But individually tailored pilates/yoga ran by physios sounds like it could be useful for some people, perhaps if you're suffering from back problems, or need injury rehab, etc. A half hour session of physio alone would cost you approx ?50, so maybe this could be a good alternative?
  9. I would certainly echo the Kiwi's suggestion of calling the Police asap. I don't know whether they'd actually bother sending any coppers round, but it has to be worth a try.

That was me - I don't think you really understand my point though. Although this isn't the right place for an in-depth discussion of investment banking. I don't really know much about retail banking and mortages, but isn't the Northen Rock situation largely a case of media sensationalism and consumer panic?
  11. I hate toilet attendants, and actively avoid bars/pubs with them. I really object to being made to feel I have to pay for the priveledge of washing my hands after taking a pee. And I really, really don't want some wierdo with a gold bracelet trying to squeeze liquid soap onto my hands.
  12. To keep Richard Dawkins at bay.
  13. Just get down the pub and stop yawning.
  14. Louisa - if you could come up with an example of a particular item in William Rose which is overpriced compared with the competition, your argument might hold some water. As it is, you're just making yourself sound a bit daft.
  15. Surely Green and Blue is a bar/cafe/deli/wine shop?
  16. When Foxtons came to Lordship Lane...
  17. It depends where abouts in ED you are - it may or may not be convenient to get the bus. Surely occasionally driving a couple of miles to a restaurant is small fry, compared with the long daily commute many people do in their cars.

I'm still throwing my toys out of the pram because I don't want them here.
  19. They're planning on bringing in buyers from Clapham and Balham? Genius! Why didn't someone think of that before? These Foxtons guys sure must know what they're doing!
  20. Al&Em : I understand that some of these people can be persistant... but at the end of the day, you really shouldn't be afraid to just shut the door on them. They're used to it, and they probably deserve it.

  22. I live in a flat, and the front is basically right on the pavement. Bags and boxes go missing, people put loads of random crap in them... I think any sort of law would be totally unenforceable in these situations.
  23. I think people are talking about a small pub-style venue... maybe 100 capacity max. But even then, it would struggle in ED with it's below-par public transport. On the other hand... a tube would be great, but I have no desire to see the property prices rocket yet further!
  24. In her otherwise perfect cross-stitching

But if they're showing a buyer round various flats dotted around East Dulwich (not to mention Camberwell and Peckham), you would literally be walking round all afternoon!
