You have irrationally strong opinions about this Spangles. What's really the matter?

  3. Keep your hair on Spangles. Bellenden is great. You needn't get jealous as you are free to visit or even move there yourself!
  4. I'm not sure many of the England football team would have got into grammar school either. I should have said: 'I think that if England keep getting to the final then rugby might become popular enough to draw the interests of comprehensive school children and then I expect that Dulwich College will rarely be represented again' My comprehensive school had a rugby team. The lads who played were the fat kids and the hairy, early developers who were crap at football.

You may have played rugby at school but I'm sure the best sportsmen in your year played football. (No offence!)

I realise that rugby is a fringe sport with only nine international teams taking part but I am still surprised that a single private school could provide two players in the current national team. Too much of a coincidence surely. Is the game perhaps a bit elitist? I think that if England keep getting to the final then rugby might become popular enough to draw the interests of state school children and then I expect that Dulwich College will rarely be represented again. Victims of their own success so to speak..
  7. I think it's a great area. Don't worry about anecdotal tales of knife crime. There are certain elements in ED who envy Bellenden its success. Once a guy got hit in the face with an axe in Hampstead. Poor guy. Great place. If you are unsure about Bellenden then go and check it out. We take the kids to Petitou quite frequently, I watch football in the Wishing Well, we use and have used a few of the local shops (Casa fireplaces for example, the woodstain shop on Maxted Road, the curtain menders next door). It's an exciting and still improving area. I have never once felt intimidated or unsafe around there.
  8. Good stuff Sean. Walk in the morning. Bus back up the hill at night. Weekly travel costs- ?4.50.

I still go back occasionally to eat in The Crown. I used to drink in the Albion a bit too. Very good. You should try walking to the City from ED. I walk form Camberwell and I'm only 15 minutes closer than say Goose Green. It might be quicker than you think..

  11. The Pier Joking apart it would be nice to have a local owner managed organic butcher - the meat at Sainos is a bit average.
  12. Maurice on the other hand isn't saying much. Mo? What about the thieving scroungers sponging off you and your tax evading mates in East Groveland?
  13. Exercise your right to buy Amanda with a law degree, sell up and buy the farm in Slovenia. Go on - I dare you.

  20. I am proud to live in a City where all children get free travel.
  21. Why don't you get angry about tax evasion Mo? Seems you like to target the defenceless...
  22. That's true. The bird at the job centre told me that I could apply for housing benefit even though I told her my Mum and Dad were happy to put me up for free...
  23. DaveR Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If > you include under 'fraud' anybody receiving more > than their strict legal entitlement, it is a truly > massive sum. You don't - that's bad admin not fraud. I agree that some elements of the benefit system should be simplified but calling the problem benefit fraud blames the recipients rather than the providers of the benefit. That's not fair.
  24. I got job seekers allowance after Uni before moving to London. It was about ?30 odd quid a week. I only got bevvied on cash that I borrowed or defrauded from my parents...
  25. All kids get it Mo. Are you saying benefit fraudsters don't spend the cash they steal? I think they spend a higher proprotion of the cash they steal than tax evaders do.
