Ten of Southwark's > 17 secondaries are academies and another a free > school, far outweighing the LEA-run > establishments. Which LEA run establishments ? There are no LEA run secondary schools in Southwark . -
Scam Warning from PRN
intexasatthe moment replied to stacey-lyn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've just had a phone call from "on line fraud " or somesuch querying suspicious activity on my account . Quoted 2 transactions taking place today on my Visa account - flat screen tv and a camera . Asked me to go and check if the card was still in my possession ,when I said I knew I hadn't lost it he asked me if I had it in my hand . When I said no ,and that that I wasn't going to get it he hung up . Apart from a very fake posh accent he also fleetingly referred to a Mr Intexas ( my partner has different surname ) so I was suspicious from start . Thinking now perhaps I shouldn't highlight the errors in his call .....they might read and learn . -
littlebelka I think I understand your posts and I didn't get the impression that you were criticising other people if they went down the medication route . And I share your distrust of drug companies , their desire for profits and the effect that has on our treatment . If it's any help I use Forest Hill Rd surgery and they discussed with me a range a treatments that were available . I chose CRT which is group therapy focussing on relaxation and compassion ( towards oneself ) . There was a few months waiting to start and I wasn't particularly optimistic but found it a huge help .Though like all these things I suspect much depends on the practicioner. So if offered CRT I would say consider it ,though obviously different treatments for different states . Might not be appropriate for all and possibly not for PND ,but mentioning it to spread the word .

Thanks KK ( think you're the guy who gave me the advice on travelling between Guys and St Thomas enabling me to keep two appointments scheduled very close to eachother ) can you tell me if I need a phone contract ( or service provider contract if that's more accurate ) to use 3G ? Anyone know about wi fi availabilty in hospital ? Is it common ?
-
I want to buy a tablet to use in hospital and my brother has advised me to get 3G . I'm not sure what 3G is and my technical experience is limited to a lap top and very basic pay as you go mobile phone . I want to use the tablet for emails ,listening to music and a relaxation ( not music ) compilation which I currently have on a CD Rom . But could have sent to me by drop box .Apparently . I imagine Wi fi will be available in hospital ( Guys and St Thomas's) won't it ? so wonder why 3G is necessary ? And does one have to have a phone contract to use 3 G . Any advice ? Very easy to understand please .

Absolutely agree about the problem of following a bus and missing the signage . And while we're on the subject - Southwark have changed their pay by telephone parking system . So DONT RELY ON A TEXT TO WARN THAT TIME IS RUNNING OUT - they're no longer sent .

Alexander Technique . It'a not a quick fix but you could go for a few sessions and learn the lying on the floor position which will help . No jokes please about how difficult can it be to work out how to lie on the floor .

James ,I thought that the Harris Academy @Peckham had built a new primary school in the grounds of the secondary school . And that it was a new primary that they opened . But was it an existing primary that moved there ? -

Big thank you to Kid ,only 4 mins on train from LB to Waterloo East . I just got to appointment at St Thomas on time . Though of course I had to then wait an hour ,which is fine ,I don 't mind . And I'd have been in a state had I been late . -

Disabled accessible room to hire on a Saturday afternoon

Ummm just brainstormimg here but wonder if any church hall /pre school /nursery places might fit the bill ? Or even a school - aren't the private ones meant to "give back " to the community ? St Johns Church at Goose Green ? St James in Elm Grove SE15 -nice and near Peckham Rye Station ( tho not sure of access at station itself and you may find the accommodation in need of a bit of updating .) Amott Rd Se15 have a hall used in week by pre school . The church hall in Barry Rd Se22 - think church is St Clements ? Community hall in Darrell Rd ? -
For what it's worth I orginally had one of those with 2 antenae and it needed a LOT of adjustment . I find the one I have now - like a framed picture - much better . But I guess your location might affect it .
-
Yes of course . Sorry ,didn't realise there was doubt about that .

Le 37 - this is possibly less than helpful as I see the item is discontinued but I use this http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIGI-VIEW-Flat-Aerial-Digital-Radio/dp/B0009UXPYY and get a good signal for my freeview box . It wasn't always so but since the retunings /switchovers whatever they were 12/18 months ago I have no problems at all .
