  1. Yup - and they've done it twice! One to go!
  2. yes Rangers is correct 2 to go
  3. It's about 1.5 US Dollars per ?1 ... give or take commission charges, i.e. $111 = ?74
  4. I'd rather Newcastle stayed up, same reason I'd rather Spurs stayed in Premiership rather than likes of Wigan, Bolton et al. At least with Newcastle, however deluded they are, they start each season with the hope of challenging at the top half of the League table whereas likes of Hull, West Brom, Wolves, Brum, Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan seem more than happy to just avoid relegation each season.
  5. Man U is 1 of the 5 Dundee United is 1 of the 5, and 1 of the 2 St Mirren, Dundee, Aberdeen incorrect 3 still to go...
  6. Alright, well clearly a serious case of foul play so another question... Only 5 British football clubs have ever won a competitive match at the Nou Camp. Who are those clubs and which 2 of those 5 did it by beating Barcelona?
  7. fair play, over to you
  8. Given the chance to jump aboard a gravy train.. you jump aboard. I think the diabolical Expenses allowed for MPs dates back to around Thatcher's time when the recommended increase in MPs salaries was too sensitive to wave through parliament and so they did it through the backdoor by loosening MP Expenses regulations. Of course as the salaries have increased there has been a failure to tighten expenses.
  9. Hope they stay up otherwise it's goodbye to a guarenteed 6 points each season.. I bet 'Boro wish they'd actually tried now a few weeks back against Man U.
  10. damn... you've obviously heard that one before!
  11. Which footballer has won the Champions League, UEFA Cup, Super Cup, Premiership, FA Cup and also been relegated?
  12. Switched on the telly during tonight's play-off semi final and was really surprised to see lots of empty seats at Brammel Lane. If Sheffield United cannot fill their ground for such a massive game then something is badly wrong.
  13. I was also thinking likes of Denilson, Song, Diaby and Nasri who seem happier just strolling around than fighting to regain possession. There must be something of an all round attitude problem if Wenger was willing to give Ashravin the Captain's armband the other week when he can speak neither English or French.
  14. Those teams may challenge for 4th spot if any of the top 4 flounder. I'd say the biggest problem for Arsenal looking from outside is that they have too many players with an attitude problem, some of which may stem from them being brought in for big bucks as 'superstar' teenagers.
  15. Iniesta a serious doubt for the Champions League Final - and Henry is still injured. This alongside their entire first choice back 4 being unavailable (Gabriel Milito, Rafael Marquez, Daniel Alves and Eric Abidal) does not bode well for Barcelona.
  16. 1 in 76,275,360 chances of winning Euromillions jackpot from one ticket - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EuroMillions The Spanish winning ticket may have been part of a syndicate - say a whole village. Looking at the 'wiki' probability the 'syndicate' could have improved their chances of winning..
  17. I don't like that Dunphy. I've listened to some of his rants in the past. But no wonder Souness looked worn out on Sky the next night when it was all compounded by that other idiot Jamie Redknapp.
  18. The Ballack and Drogba mix, with Benny Hill soundtrack -
  19. I think Hiddink has turned it around at Chelsea - there was a fear they'd miss out on Champions League qualification. Since he took over, in January?, I believe they've lost 1 game (at WHL) in all competitions.
  20. Ballack and Drogba were lucky not to get red cards - having said that it was very entertaining. As for Jamie Redknapp, with eyes bulging, telling Richard Keys that they couldn't have a Spanish Ref because Barcelona were from Spain was the icing on the cake. If Drogba had still been on the pitch during the Ballack incident heaven forbid what would have happened... as I think we'd now be talking about assault. Chelsea were definately robbed last night but I don't remember them shedding any tears in last years semi final when Sami Hyypia was denied a blatant penalty or in 2005 when Carvalho spun the Barcelona goalkeeper for Terry to head the decisive goal.
  21. In my opinion Chelsea were robbed of a trip to Rome for the Final - 2 clear penalties, and the one at the death maybe.. Ballack chasing after the Ref was the highlight of the night, closely followed by Drogba telling the world that Ref was a 'f**king disgrace'. Special mention to that wonder goal by Michael Essien, what a strike and with his weaker foot. Wow!

They do have mics around the ground but purely for background otherwise you'd never hear the commentators

I stood on the old Kop terrace for a few years before it was seated, but I have to say the very best atmosphere I've witnessed was the 2005 semi final 2nd leg against Chelsea. What you also have to remember Red Devil, assuming you're not a regular on the Kop, is that commentaries these days are done up on the gantry of the upper centenary stand rather than from the press box which is in the thick of the crowd. How often do people go to a game then switch on the Sky+ and you wonder what's happened to all that noisy singing?
  24. I went upto Parkhead to watch Celtic v Liverpool in the UEFA Cup few years back, and I was impressed with their YNWA but I have to admit it's not quite like a balmy night at Anfield when the Kop turn on the power and you feel the words racing through your veins :)
