Yeah RC, those high class Jermyn Street shoes with the "Would sir like to announce himself with steel"... heels/toecaps, really pack a punch when on the end of some oxbridge prop, turned city trader, foot coming into speedy contact with layabout lazy cider induced stuper troublemaker. Only one winner there, the rich get quicker, the poor are bruised.
  2. A litre of coke Rosie - thats a lot of black in your body. And 3 espressos - thats even more black. Then you say you are having a whitey? And the cure is lots of white milk. I'm confused.
  3. My condolences Jah. Quite rightly your thoughts are prioritised for those closest to you. Cancer unfotunately affects most people in some way, but it seems your family and friends have been affected more than most.

Although I don't agree with it, her point was well made and I have no doubt she is as intelligent as most on this forum. I'm not sure we should catagorise people as humourous / sensible - the forum is not real life - its a bit of escapism for most, a bit of fun most of the time - But when there is a serious thread surely we are all entitled to an opinion. I could not disagree more with DM on this, my father having died a dignified death from cancer, but surely we should not jump on people who make a point that perhaps goes agianst the grain, otherwise people will be reluctant to post their opinions.

  6. Still have not lost complete confidence in MU. Think the international break has come at a good time for them and they will come back refreshed. If they win their next game, the the pressure is back on Liverpool who I think play the next day, so MU could go 4 points ahead on equal games and that's quite a lot of pressure on Liverpool, who by contrast do not need the international break to come just now.
  7. Yep well done David Watched the game in Patricks Bar in Crystal Palace with a couple of mates - was great game and a great atmosphere in the pub - hope you all enjoyed it. I also had another fantasy league between me and a few mates - it was good fun, must try it again next year.
  8. Interesting stuff Louisa on Dulwich College and the Picture Gallery. Thx.
  9. I have a real issue with smacking of kids, it disgusts me. I hope within a few years it will be made illegal. Parents have to encourage good behaviour in their children in more positive ways.

I can only apologise HB - I have just read this post and cannot even remember writing it. It was a 3am post and I cannot believe after being out drinking all day that I would then log on to the forum before going to bed, I should have known at that stage and in that state every hour/minute in bed would be vital to how terribly hungover I was going to feel this morning - and to make matters worse it was Mothers Day - had to be civil all day despite the pain / dehydration / sleep deprivation I was feeling. All Ronan O'Gara's fault. I'm going to plead the Forum 5th amendment, what you don't remember posting does not count, I take it all back - obviously. Quite pleased however that in auto pilot mode I did not make any spelling mistkes.
  11. Resurgent Liverpool: I think I have to eat some humble pie - thought rafa had run out of steam, and ideas, a month or two ago but credit where its due Liverpool are really motoring now and pose a real threat to MU title hopes. 3 great performances in a row.
  12. I am not in love with HonaloochieB
  13. HA What a day!!!! Ireland for the first time in my memory win something, and the grand slam is quite something. Hope you all had a good day, Declan, David and all other Irish rugby fans. I buy the Telegraph and I have only one thing to say: Who is Brian Moore? I await with interest what he will say on Monday after saying that Ireland would choke on the big day.
  14. Lets hope for more of this:
  15. "I'm not making any rash promises", was my Mums favourite.
  16. Guinness - the best I've had was in O'Donoghue's Baggot Street, Dublin. The best guinness and the best atmosphere to go with it, a pub where everyone is your friend. You walk into O'Donongues on a rugby weekend and there is a man standing ON the bar, he catches your eye as you get inside door, "how many" he shouts, you shout back how many guinness you need, they top up the pre-prepared creamy pints and he hands them over the three of four deep crowd around the bar - now thats a bar that does not like to keep its customers waiting, wish I was there today.
  17. Good luck at the races Quids - I was at Kempton on Weds night - the evening meetings are great and a good way to watch racing without having to take time off work. I'm watching the rugby in Crystal Palace, first the England Scotland game, but if we struggle to get somewhere showing the Ireland Wales game, will hotfoot it to the EDT and join you guys. Cmon Oirelaand...
  18. Tony - Sorry to hear about the colourblindness - just for assistance watching the rugby on Saturday, the Irish team will be the team with the ball.
  19. in the 1980s when you see talent drawn to London clubs instead of Man United / Liverpool you knew what was going to happen next and why they wanted to live in London, eg Gazza and Champagne Charlie Nicolas.
  20. Gone skiing, don't really like snow except to look at from a warm house.
  21. Pleased to see BBW and Keef recommending Heineken - I like it but thought not many others did, seems to get a lot of criticism, but I am having a can of it as we speak, its pretty good I think. As for bitter - I'm getting into it slowly and usually go for London Pride if the pub has it. Also like IPA, not so keen on the heavy ones. But its hard to beat Guinness and its served in every pub (I know not a beer or lager but deserves a mention).
  22. I think maybe - Carrick, Anderson, Scholes, Hargreaves, Park.
  23. Its quite amazing My secretary has just looked at her house in Newcastle and her Dad is in the front garden looking at the "camera". Just been for a "drive" down Frien Road - its incredible but I guess some people will have privacy issues. All number plates are hidden.
  24. Its quite amazing - perhaps someone who knows about these things can tell us how these "photos" have been taken.
