  9. We've resorted to '.stop n grow' nasty tasting liquid painted on nails. Stopped our 3 yr old sucking his fingers in a few days, despite my reservations. Used in conjunction with reward chart and treats. Aloe Vera is apparently natural alternative, same theory.

  11. Avoid Diana hotel on Thurlow park rd if you can
  12. I have mixed feelings about the nursery but have friends who still have their children there and are very happy. Please PM if you'd like to chat. Best wishes
  13. I've got a nearly 4 yr old and am due second baby in march... We have our great aunt and uncle in Nunhead but not wanting to be a burden or too reliant on them if, for example, I go into labour in middle of the night or when hubby isn't around. I know millions of women manage on their own or with limited family/friends' support but just wondered if anyone had words of wisdom (AKA reassurance!) or advice. Thanks :)
  14. Just go with it, our son took a while to fully potty train when 2.5 but not stressing about it meant it happened without us really noticing :)

Lovely colour range too, and > helpful guy who runs it. Seconded :) used paint from there in our baby's first room and it was great quality and didn't smell
  16. I'm on mat leave from 10 Feb, anyone fancy a meet up? With or without toddlers
  17. Neighbourhood midwives might be able to suggest someone, or NCT? Good luck, my friends baby had that and it was a slog, especially at night. Hope things improve x
  18. I can add my recommendation :) Lou's hand printed homewares are fab and the spin painting us great fun for kids
  19. Just found this company from another link Have ordered reuseable baby wipes, swim nappy and reusable pull ups (hoping to toilet train at night now my little boy is almost 4 yrs and throw aways seem complete waste of money as dry as a bone most mornings!) http://www.babipur.co.uk/shop/index.html
  20. Victoria Inn, The Herne, The Plough on Lordship Lane close to the library... all good :) even The Bishop not massively busy Sat afternoon and plenty of seating esp near the back for families
  21. Definitely childminder but agree childcare is a minefield! Ludoscotts above is lovely by the way, friend of mine :)
  22. There are lots of payroll agencies that do the same thing - best thing is to Google and ensure you check price for weekly/monthly as some advertise cheaper rate but then you find it's for weekly payroll when you want monthly (or vice versa). All the same thing, Nannytax purely a big brand so Nescafe coffee as opposed to say Red Mountain :)
  23. Has anyone tried re-usable pull ups at night? Have mattress protector but he's prob not quite at that stage yet so don't fancy changing wet bedding daily!
  24. The Barry house hostel is a very worthy cause, I recently donated toys (they have quite a few children there inc some autistic children who apparently revel in music) but they need more, inc pushchairs, toys and clothing.
  25. Lets try and keep this post visible - truly abhorrent practice.
