An excellent route, and they wait for those of us who quite haven;t mastered the art of climing hills. Well worth trying that out if anyone fancies it. You do have to be able to keep a good pace up though. 15mph ain that tough, but for three hours it wears you down! I'm wondering if there is scope for a Saturday ride out in the new year? Happy to organise it, but not got a saturday free until January! E -

busybee Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I reckon those pedal clip thingies would help but I'm worried about > falling off when I stop... Don't be, they are fully adjustableso when you first fit them have them really loose to make getting the foot out easy. Then as a hardened pro, some two weeks later, tighten them up a bit and you'll have legs like Lance Armstrong within the month (Possibly) Yes, they are well worth the investment, and a top tip (Given to me by man in cycling shop) is put your bike in the hallway and sit on it and practice unclipping your feet. At worst you bump into the wall with your shoulder. I did it, and have not falle....nah, not going to tempt fate! -

fractionater Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Only looks ridiculous if someone is watching you > do it, or see's you take your trousers off Technique would be, I imagine I have no experience of such a specific situation, would be to undo the shirt from the top, (Ti*'s first I'm no slag...) while claiming "kiss my chest you mad passionate fool" and take it off without untucking it. Then whilest said chest is being kissed you can carefully untuck it yourself while maybe uttering "Of your kisses are like Ice to my fire" to keep partner distracted...being careful of course to avoid self induced wedgie, as mentioned previously.... I hope this helps someone....

fractionater Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I may actually give this a go too now that there is a functional reason for it! You'll be hooked for life...mark my words..... Word of warning though, when untucking, exercise a degree of caution. It is all to easy to self wedgie if you're a bit too enthusiastic with you untucking..... =8-0

You two scare me..... ;-) I was in the TA and when on parade in the summer, shirt sleave order, doing this means the shirt stay straighter, and you don;t get bollocked for looking "Like a sack of $hit tied up with string". Though something other hideous misdemeanour such as a badly ironed collar woudl see the bvollocking ensued anyway. He might have a service history... It's logical, but uncomfortable, I must say. E

willma Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I thought it would be interesting to hear from > people who cycle to work every day from the East > Dulwich area. Good thread idea, well done!! Well, as I work from home I don;t actually need to cycle to work, but will often join my wife on her cycle to work, from Goose Green to the Kings Road. It's cycle routes most of the way, and we cross the river at Albert bridge. Often I'll come back via longer route, to make it more of a training ride out for me. http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=4004 I ride a Genesis Day01 which is a sort of racing bike with flat bars. Skinny tyres and light frame and nice to ride. I want to do du/triathlons in 2008, so need to get out and do more miles... Oh, and oif anyone reading this has not got clip pedals and shoes then you;re missing out on cyclings greatest seacret weapon. E -

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Haven't seen any of this yet, but wouldn't mind > being in a tent with Cerys Matthews for a few > nights, I too harbour those thoughts.... Then one day, about 2004 'spose I was on the train back from Cardiff to London and went for a coffe. Nice girl in front in the queue, who I was admiring. She turned around and it was Cerys. "It's You" I said, then immediately though to myself "You cock" "It is" She replied, giggled and walked back to first class... I like to think it was a cheeky "Follow me" giggle.....but I could have been mistaken. The "You're a cock" giggle is very similar... -

Yes, Popped along with Mrs Plot today and came back with a selection of cheese, and two books, so in all a good day out in my estimation. Also saw CitizenEd in is role as "Transporter of Children." Oyster Bar though.....Only for the more upwardly mobile...Surely not the sort of place that likes of Mockney Et Al woudl frequent?

Fully agree with Keef, the rest of the world is not as liberated as we might be. IT WILL come back to bite you, so suggest some pruning...

Mockney...you want to buy Al Pachino... (If that's him...) ???? E PS Forgot about that silly blad lens....
-
Good on you. I'll pop by and say hello later...

I'd get the house decorated. Buy out the tosser who lives next door, or buy some to get rid of him...and knock it through. Then I'd buy a Mercedes Gullwing, W111 Coupe, W123 Coupe and get a V8 dropped into it, and get Austin A40 professionally restored. Other than that, a Tag Heuer, a 600mm F4 Canon L Series, and then a 'Blad H3DII with lenses. I want a simple life.... E
