At last I saw a famous person, well actually Sandi Toksvig did literally walk into Treena whilst she was here from Oz but of course being Australian Treena had absolutely NO idea who Sandi was.... However I passed Tracey Barlow in Northcross Road earlier this week, she was with an older woman & looking very smug that people were recognising her... Ahhhh to be famous NOT!!!

I saw the lovely Lesley Sharpe (you know, the one from that medium drama with Andrew Lincoln and The Full Monty) having a curry on Lordship Lane a while back with her fella who is also an actor but I can't place him. I also saw one of the actors from Waterloo Road with a fellow lady actress I couldn't place either(!) on North Cross Rd

whole cast of lazy town queuing for sweets at the olde wolde chocolate shop in northcross.

Its riddled with 'names' from different branches of 'showbiz'here. You guys only scratched the surface. The one I'd really like to spot is apparantly the fella with the headband in Alien 1. A black shakespearian actor. I have nightmares about that thing.Hope he would assure me its not real if i asked.

    • I get that bit - it's the "we all win"  bit I didn't understand if I look at world, countries I most subscribe to are the ones where taxes are raised significantly, the economy continues to thrive and the rewards lead to a fairer economic outcome - including countries where actual pension income is a lot more  https://www.almondfinancial.co.uk/pension-breakeven-index-how-does-the-uk-state-pension-compare-to-the-rest-of-europe/   but a decent social fund requires chancellor "winning"
    • Pretty sure it’s the same everywhere in Southwark in that the area around a marked cycle parking bay is geofenced - presumably to encourage riders to use the bays.
    • They are very funny at the Herne Hill Oxfam, for a charity book shop, about accepting book donations. Last time I tried to drop off a few bags the woman there was quite cross so I took them right back out, and I will not go back again. Definitely had this very same conversation on this forum before, including about the parking. That time I drove them over to a different charity bookshop in Streatham where - shock horror - they thanked me. And since then I've taken other books in smaller quantities to local charity shops.
