The private boat for Max didn't have MAX written on it, as it's supposed to. And Max's tail wasn't nearly bushy enough. And the wild things... well, they were a bit wrong.

This is what comes of messing with books that people love.

(I've just realised after a few minutes of staring into thin air that I know the entire text of that book by heart - what a waste of memory space!)

in the loop, very funny, however my cinema choice of the week has to be "let the right one in", very atmospheric vampire film, in that the main protagonists are kids, an unusual but extremely good film, but only watch if you can stand subtitles. dvd of the week which i watched last night is "the baader-meinhof complex", cracking film which one would think in the arms of a guy ritchie et al would attempt to glamourise the group and their actions, this film doesn,t, it makes them out to be the terrorists they were, all be it, they sure do look good. worth a watch.

Then he should also enjoy the scene from Misery when Kathy Bates hobbles James Caan's feet:

Bates: Do you know what they did to the native workers who stole diamonds? Don't worry, they didn't kill them. No, they had to make sure they could go on working,... ..but they also had to make sure

they could never run away.

The operation was called "hobbling".

Caan: Annie... Whatever you're thinking about doing, please don't do it!

Caan: Annie, for God's...

Bates: Shh, darling. Trust me...

Caan: God's sake!!

Bates: It's for the best.

Caan: Annie, please!

Bates: Almost done. Just one more....

    • I saw about similar to last year. Blue and Great tits, lots of pigeons and collared dove, robin and magpie. In all my years here I have never seen a goldfinch or sparrows. Even my teasels dont attract them. Even though we live in the same area it seems that different species of birds have their favourite sites. I thought it was very misty today which for me made visability a lot harder
    • Hi, I'm looking to find a recommendation for a good orthodontist who works with children. We live in East Dulwich, so someone local would be good. But also prepared to travel further afield or into the city if needs be. Stu
    • Actually far better than I anticipated.  My usual viewings from the kitchen are of the feeders that for whatever reason appear less visited.  But upstairs, and doing it for the whole hour we spotted many more species, and with the help of the bird song app saw wrens, and probably a black cap.  We caught a brief view of a small flock of long tailed tits, and were pleased to see far more gold finches than we expected, so numbers not as decimated, following sub freezing nights a few weeks ago, as thought. No sparrow hawks, probably only see one a decade, and expect that they are more interested in wood pigeons than sparrars.
